Relationship Note on Margot
Margot seems to have found some purpose in her mission to the forests, and is going to try to use those lessons as the Depths expand to try and bring some of the abandoned to our side. Meanwhile I have been put in charge of preparing Tydehall for the refugees by Margot. I am glad she places such faith in me - I just hope I can live up to it.

Relationship Note on Dagon
I must remember to take Dagon out to the woods - and he has promised in turn to take me out on the waves. Though, we need to pause all hijinks until we can get Margot to agree to stop going on dangerous missions. Accidentally wiping out the Tyde again would look careless.

Margot surprised me at the Mangata event, wading out into the water as she did. She certainly isn't shy or weak in anyway - always impressive. We have a good leader for our reborn house.

Relationship Note on Petal
Yes, what Petal said at the ceremony about the deeds of some in Thrax may have been unpolitic to say, but I cannot help but note that what she said is not untrue. I can find little offense in the truth, though I judge none of my fealty who do take it. But this is life in the Thrax, or it was. The children I played with as a child were felled with axe, the same as saplings uprooted to make way for a new field of corn. No prayer, no amount of offense that I take, no raging or complaint will bring them back.
I understand the offense Princess Alarissa took - I think she wishes we were not those things. And she has had no hand in those deeds, and does not bear our name. I myself have been away from Thrax for a long time, but I am returned and I take that history as much as I embrace any other part of us. If we wish to stop being remembered for such things, we must not do such things. If we wish to do such things, then we must accept people will remember. Trying to have it both ways will end only in tears.

Relationship Note on Victus
I remain unsure on what mistake Prince Victus made in the shrine that caused the waters to consume our ships, or for himself to be stricken. For my part, I do not blame him - a mistake was made, and he has learnt the lesson it seems, so what purpose does blame serve other than to salve hurt pride and stroke egos?

We have lost a number of ships - it is a tragedy, but it is also done. There is nothing we can do to undo it. What has saddened me most has been the reaction. People seem to want to find enemies to fight within the Compact, and they want to fight regardless of cost or thought. So many in Thrax are so focused on appearing bold. It was 'bold' of Titus to oppose House Thrax, but that doesn't make it right, and nor did it bring him victory - thankfully.
I would rather win than be loud - if some would rather misunderstand that as cowardice, so be it. I am just not so uncertain of myself that I feel the need to shout as loud.

Duke Harald is holding naval exercises, and Margot wishes me to gain my sea legs so I had attend. It will also be good to get to know the Duke - his past with my family has certainly been interesting.

Relationship Note on Fiachra
Fiachra taught me about archery - he is certainly a good shot, which I guess is why I heard he took gold in the archery competition. I must admit to finding myself often more at peace in the Valardin and Grayson wards with people like Fiachra, but then I have no responsibilities there.

So, I have now trained in understanding the animals with Prince Aiden, in archery with Prince Fiachra and on survival with Lord Gaston. And Princess Reese has agreed to a meeting about this idea - perhaps it will all work out. Perhaps.

Arx is certainly different to Ashford. The city is bustling, with very few retreats away from that. And while returning to the name I was born with is good, and I know my mother has the best intentions for it, it is also in need of adjustment. My new fealty brings with it a degree of loudness - not from cousin Margot, but from others within Thrax. I will have to adjust to that. Still. My bow has finally arrived from Ashford, so I can go hunting, and cousin Margot has been kind enough to set me up with a room and make me feel welcome. So, we shall see. Now, if dear sister would stand still so I can check she is OK, life would be complete.

Relationship Note on Reese
Princess Reese Grayson is someone Archeron has respected from afar - as minister of war for the Grayson, he knew of her in his time with the rangers out of Ashford. He had the chance to meet her in the city and she was most cordial, but more importantly seemed happy to welcome him on excursions and patrols into the woods. This is a useful link that Archeron will have to pursue.

Relationship Note on Erika
Lady Erika is someone Archeron ran into on his first night in the city. And what a relief she is - she knows the woods and is happy to show Archeron the places near the city he can get his feet into the soil and forget the business of the city. She is loud, but no where near as rough and tumble as the Thrax so she is also a good acclimatiser for the new Tyde Lord .
