I'll come gaze at the stars. Make a whole party out of it. Drinks and everything.

Maybe not so strong drinks, or someone will fall off that roof and then we'll all feel bloody silly.

Have trouble sleeping lately. This is not normal, I've never had trouble sleeping.

Busy weeks. Spend more time at the Lodge than at home. Raavas is looked after by a neighboring family most of the time - they're good people. I pay them too, of course.

Need to start figuring out a tutor for him. School. Something.

It was an all around good day. Outside with the dogs and my son and with Lady Elora Whitehawk. Then that hunt with you. Let's see if we can make a habit out of that.

Everyone's on edge out at the Lodge. Broke up an argument between an archer and an infantry soldier earlier. Others are just quietly waiting. Some are too cheerful and boastful. A few - me included - incessantly check their gear and sharpen their weapons, the moment they have a break.

I feel right at home.

Raavas drew me a picture yesterday. It was of a Red Wolf and there were three dogs, a fox, a brown wolf, a squirrel, a wolverine and a magpie flying above. There was also a beaver (I think, it looked very much like a blob and another blob attached). He'd also written 'To dad, bEst SOLDER in iron gARD'.

Lottie's Place had this great green cloak and a red coat - I bought them both. My old ratty cloak and coat just won't cut it any longer and I'm very happy to have found those - I'm no expert, but I can tell they're extremely well crafted and will last me for years. I've also bought some items off of Petal a few weeks back, so now I can't get away with wearing my armor everywhere any longer. Damn it.

It's the dogs. They bring people together. A well-behaved happy dog can make everyone feel comfortable and and they comfort, too. (This is the actual reason I walk around with three dogs, cause one isn't enough to make people talk to me.)

I didn't think I could get blisters any longer. I was very, very wrong. I got blisters on my feet AND hands. I got new boots, so there's that. But the hands? I've softened up, clearly. All this digging has proven I'm not as tough as I thought I was.

Some wounds can never truly heal. But they can be mended and patched up. The broken bit can be glued together again. Some people are good with gluing. You're one of those, and I'm proud to call you sister and god-mother of Raavas.

Preparations are going well, thanks to the experts that have come forth to help. The upcoming weeks will be hectic as we go from a lot of paperwork to actually doing what is on paper.

Enjoying writing these stories a lot more than I thought I ever would. Even considering buying a desk and some proper writing tools. Need to work more on drawing, but I don't write all that ugly.

I've gotten several amazing gifts. I was very surprised cause I barely paid attention to that whole gift giving thing. I was busy digging a trench. One bloody big trench. It took days, but it's one damn fine piece of hard labor.

Anyway, what I meant to say was; I love all the gifts, but don't do it again. You know who you are.

I just realised I no longer wake up wondering what in the Abyss I'm doing in Arx. I get up, we eat breakfast, I head to the Barracks, I check over my tasks for the day and set about it like it's routine.

City grew on me. Some parts, I even like.

No amount of preparations can make you ready for reality when it comes at you. You just got to think on your feet then and there. Still - all preparations can make your choices more obvious and better.

So we prepare. I got the feeling this preparation is not something usual to the Iron Guard. But neither is the enemy.

Relationship Note on Calaudrin

Lyres are good blunt weapons. Recommend two handed wield. Almost as good as chairs in a pinch. Also all parties with bruises were fined five silver to the inn keeper. Clearly they were not good at brawling and should know better.

Yesterday was an all around great day. Now I am wondering what bad thing will happen. Best be wary.
