It's been over a year since I swore fealty to my sister's house and nearly that long since I was tasked with guardianship of this.. reckless turtle. I originally asked for a bear - a bearatorium, more specifically - and was given the task of proving myself responsible first with a turtle and secondly, should the turtle thrive... with a dog.
Having only gone missing ONCE, Responsibility the turtle is STILL ALIVE. Some might argue EVEN MORE alive seeing as how there are TWO of him, now. Golly, I hope that closet of mirrors off of Mydas's former quarters doesn't have anything to do with this. Not my problem! I'm well on the way to my goal. ..I don't really want a dog, though.

Any certified turtle dispensary will tell you, the best way to determine the gender of a turtle is to wait until the animal changes shells.

I'm grateful to Rhea for having chosen someone generous enough to indulge our beliefs, even if they differ from their own. Though secondary to the ceremony of the Faith held some months ago as befits our station, Lady Kenna and I attended to the Stone Grove to pay homage to the Spirits so that they might look kindly upon us - more kindly than attempted unions past. That they did with rains from above, greenery from all around, and winds to touch our cheeks bodes well for the many hundreds of offspring we are now guaranteed to produce.

There has been no greater adjustment to life in Arx or life in my sister's House than the lack of windows in our residence here. The athenaeum is my least favorite room. Reading is... impossible, obviously. Doubly so when it might serve as one of few alternatives to, I don't know, watching a bird flap on by. It's so forced! I can't say what dampens my spirit more, the mornings when I wake to find myself in that room still or the solemn march down there to begin with. Long winter ahead.

House Acheron's heirloom, House Aviaron's before that, is not a sword but a warpick. They tell me an angel of Gild gifted it to the dwarves that once dwelt there. I'm inclined to believe it was a spirit of the mines and not dwarves at all, rather just somebody very, very small.
Were I to speak the wrong words while holding this item, it would be our honor speaking. Were I to draw the blood of an innocent with Earthstriker's pointed end, it would be our honor made manifest to strike them down. Swing it upward while someone lay prone or their back was turned away? Our honor.
In such acts, that thing would be diminished... until it and we were worth little more than the metal it was forged with.
