On the matter of Count Duarte Amadeo, I was asked by Duchess Belladonna Pravus what Duarte is responsible for, and if there's any proof.
The matter is particularly curious because my instincts tell me that Count Duarte has done something in his life. That, through out all of it, there is at least one singular choice that he made that he is responsible for. I would imagine, for instance, that being ennobled is not something that was done to him without his consent. That it was, a choice he made, for which he is responsible. As for proof, I would like to submit to the scholars the fact that I keep writing "Count" in front of Duarte Amadeo.
Yet, as I sit here and write, I can't help but question the very reality of all of this. Perhaps Duarte's ennoblement was done TO him. Perhaps it's proof of nothing at all! Perhaps Duchess Belladonna is correct, and Count Duarte is not responsible for anything. Or, at the least, there's no proof that his deeds are his own.
But I think we'll need to pull the Archlector of Choice into the mix, to determine if the good Count has free will or not.
Or, is it the Archlector of Petrichor, to inform us if puppy dogs can choose?

Please forgive a poorly worded journal entry. What was written as '-- there is someone no one openly mourns --' should have been penned as '-- there is someone -nearly- no one openly mourns --'. I certainly was not attempting to corner the market on Abbas-mourning or diminish his sister's grief.
I wish the man were still with us.
I wish more mourned his passing.

I think it's very noble of Duchess Belladonna to not only state her misstep, but apologize and correct it. We all make mistakes, we all misread situations, and I appreciate someone so willing to learn.

You have to have things before you can give them away. And, as I said, her stated reason for giving them away was that she no longer had room for them. She's done this a number of times; giving things away is not wrong, I'm not saying it is, I'm just pointing out how /much/ Reese has, and how frequently that overflows even her ability to hold onto it. And how ridiculous it is to say she's the least spoiled, even when it comes to princesses; I don't see every princess in Arx, and there are quite a few, having this problem. Are the rest of them burning their extra possessions instead?
I don't hate Reese. I'm not even angry at her. But there's coming to her defense, and then there's jumping to the opposite end of the accusation to do it.

Most recently I offered some words which, despite my best intentions, offended a family of hard working people. It is with a sincere hand that I offer my apology to the Cullers and anyone else whom might have been upset by my words. The Sentinel's judgement isn't needed to acknowledge someone else's feelings and that will always be my stance when it comes to the emotional well being of the people.
In time I hope to make amends for my actions and to learn from my mistakes. Thank you for the opportunity to grow and move past this so graciously Duchess Pravus, without your words of wisdom on the matter perhaps I might not have chosen to reflect on my actions and find fault in myself.
