Scholar! Guess what! I climbed into a crow's nest today. What? No! I didn't fall. Nor did it wobble or creak. Scholar! Stop that.

It truly was intoxicating. To look at the stars and lights of the city reflected in the water. How the darkness stretched endlessly and to feel the wind whip my hair. Gosh! It was just the best.

The climb down was one of the most terrifying things I have done though. Stop it scholars! There's no need to get if I fell. I'm here, aren't I?

Scholar. I've been deep in reflection today. No! stop that! It isn't a euphemism. Your mind is in the gutters Scholar.

No. I mean I have been reflecting on the friendships and people I have met in the city. I have penpals and friends and people I've only just met. Some who keep themselves heavily guards and others who wear their hearts on their sleeves. Some who write to me about philosophy and love, others about naming animals. I love them all so much scholar. They have made such a wonderful and lush tapestry for me and I want to thank them all for befriending me.

Relationship Note on Rodica

I did something dreadful tonight scholars! See, I made a new friend and she's terrific. She's funny and interesting and I think almost as out of her depth as I feel. There's one problem. She's lycene. Not that that's actually a problem. It's her hatred of snow! How can I be best friends with someone who hates the thing I love most?

Well scholar. I drank a little too much whiskey and decided to throw a snowball at her. I missed. Oh scholar! I missed so badly. I got Prince Kieran Redrain in the face. I can't lie, it was hysterically, side splittingly funny. But! Lady Rodica and he decided that I must wear a lycene style gown and scholar! what happens if all my lady bits fall out? What if that strategic strap breaks? I'm more worried about this darn dress than dealing with a bear who has a thorn in their paw.

I fear Lady Volcica is going to be so frustrated with me scholar. But I swear, it's not my fault! See. I just can't stand by was watch animals not thrive.

What started as a mouse saved from the jaws of a terrible beastly cat, has grown. I found an egg in the street and been diligently keeping it warm and am ready to raise the little dear, even if it involves crushing worms every twenty minutes.

I also stumbled across a cat giving birth to kittens at the spirits and the runt has needed a gentle touch. I fear it too will be rejected by it's mother and need caring for.

I also have been offered a puppy by a dear friend. Scholar? Do you think Lady Volcica will mind? Oh. you think it's safer to hide them all in my room? Me too scholar. Me too.

Now scholar, don't laugh.

I was in a arm wrestle contest last night. Against Lord Kritr.

Oh scholar! Stop laughing! It isn't that funny. I am positive I could win if I really put my heart into it. What do you mean? How did it end? It went as well as expected. I am sure he threw the last match since he did not budge when I put all my weight against him. It was very kind of him.

Oh scholar! Get up off the ground. Is it so comical to think I could win? Actually, don't answer that.

Scholars! Guess what! I won a tiara!

Well, it was a combined effort. Scout Rowenova and I won a cake walk. She ran and didn't eat the cake while I shouted encouragement. Yes well. She may of technically won it on her own accord. No scholars. Don't laugh. I can run if I need to! No scholars! I don't wibble and wobble. It's a run!

Anyway, while the cake was delicious, it was a vegetable cake. Who honestly puts carrots in cakes? Silly people. No wonder she was able to resist until the end.

I wonder why it's called a cake walk when no walking was involved?

It's been a week or so since I've arrived in the city and boy, what a week it's been!

I have reconnected with my cousin Volcica, who is just the most amazing person. I have missed her quiet charm and quick wit and glad that the darkness we have faced over the last ten years has not deminished her beautiful spirit.

I saw Svana who has gotten married and owns a shop and is having babes! It's so hard to believe how grown up she has become. I still remember her making me dolls and beating up the children who'd pick on me.

I have made so many new friends too. A prince who has revealed so much more than he planned. A lycene lord who has given me his gloves, a feat I'm told us quite impressive. A northerner who reminded me to always remain true to myself, no matter how things are twisted. A vivacious princess who has helped keep me well informed of all these odd new traditions. I am so blessed with those who have reached out and embraced me in the city.

I do just hope that the Marquis I spilt wine on will forgive me, and that his pirate, no aid. (I think aid) stops staring at me and drawing sharp knives.

Relationship Note on Moros

Lord Moros is my first true friend I've made since coming to the city. It's however involved hostage negations, schemes and threats of snow down one neck.

I look forward to seeing how our friendship alters when I no longer have snow to threaten you with.
