Relationship Note on Kaldur

A bet has been made and I am excited. I do however recognize my own worst fault is my competitiveness, and incessant need to prove myself better, even if it is to myself. But I plan on winning this one. I look forward to the daily challenge and the well earned result at the end. Be prepared.

Dear scholar.

I would like It noted that just because I have a stack of papers, I am not turning into a scholar. Alright. I did have an abacus, but I am still not a scholar. Look! fine yes. I was looking in books and had a pencil between my teeth and no, there was no crossbow held at my head. It still does not make me a scholar, does it?

Relationship Note on Arik

Lord Arik said I hit like a small child.

So I got him where it'd hurt the most. His Beard.

Lord Arik may drink me under the table, but I can make him cry like a little baby.

Yesterday I turned nineteen.

If anyone told me a year ago that I would be married, or a countess or that I would have a child I would of laughed and laughed at how crazy they all were.

I think the gods and spirits find themselves hilarious. I hate to see what they will throw at me next.

I was so glad that so many came to the taste of the Everwinter. Sometimes it is easy to get lost in our own problems, our own lives and winter keeps us much closer to home. I won't lie, it can be lonely going from such a huge loud family who are constantly talking (even if it is over the latest research coming from arx) to big empty halls where silence is preferred.

Thank you to those who came and filled my home with laughter and a special thanks to those who few who made me laugh even as it ended. My heart is fuller because of you.

Relationship Note on Strozza

I saw Lord Strozza's white journal on his hatred of flowers. So I wrote him. A spontaneous one detailing how flowers remind us to savor the moment.

He wrote back about how a gift should capture the moment forever. He sent me a rose of gems to prove his point.

Well played Lord Strozza.

I give up. I think I'm sick. Maybe I'm dying. I decided to write a book. Writing a book is hard! There's multiple readings. I can now say I have read a book too.

What a shameful dark day this is.

I came third in the Valardin sled race! I thought I was a dreadful horsewoman.. Horse rider? Doesn't matter!

I have a new goal. Get better at riding so I can ride into battle and shoot flaming arrows at the enemies and become the most Fearsome countess in the north!

The annual mammoth hunt at Bonespire was a success. The spirits and god's were on our side and minimal injuries were sustained.

A true team effort to take down the beast, but it was Lord Rysen who did the dirty work and slaughtered the beast. I have to admit, red is most certainly the young lord's color.

Thank you to Ladies Thea, Kaia and Volcica and Lord Rysen for such a fine hunt.

The pyjama party was a success. There was laughter and drinks and a new fashion statement thanks to Lord Erik and Lady Esme.

Next is the taste of Everwinter. I am hopeful we spear a mammoth this week. I'd really love for everyone to get a taste of it.

Relationship Note on Elloise

I tested Elloise's wheely-plank.

Well. For her sake I /experimented/ and tested a hypothesis.

I tested if countesses are able to stay on top of wheely-planks while riding them as fast as they can down the stairs.

They do not.

Furthermore. Wheely-planks down the staircase results in sore arms (from the fall), broken furniture, yelling and scolding and being glared at by your guards and those at Leary house.

I would however recommend this experiment. My next will be, will I be yelled at if I ride that thing through the library? My hypothesis is yes.

Relationship Note on Volcica

Last eve I had a garment made for Lady Volcica for our upcoming pyjama party. When I saw it, I paused. It's something I am struggling to imagine Lady Volcica to wear. She assures me she likes it.

I think it truly exemplifies her as our Rose of the north, so if you come to our pyjama party, please make sure you compliment her on how stunning she looks. She will love it!

I've recently had people comment on how big my child is getting. How it is time to give them a sibling. How it's my duty to produce, as they like to call them, spares. I've had others comment on how I should make marriage ties with my house members. That we can't stay stagnant forever. It has led me to question on how we measure change and progression.

For me, the last year has moved so fast. I have married. Had a child. Been given a title. We have brought seraphinite into the compact. Traded a new coffee. Opened new mines. We are building a port and have numerous other projects within the works. I am so proud of what my new family and I have accomplished, which makes me wonder, why is house progression to some only measured in children and marriages?

Relationship Note on Sina

As much as I detest books, I swear that I did not cause the mayhem in the stacks.

Archlector Sina's wrath scares me too much to even want to put a book back wrong.

Fairen.

It was barely any snow. And your books were fine.

Perhaps you would prefer mud?

The first snow of the season has always been my favorite. I remember as a child that feeling that the snow was coming. That crispness in the air and how everything fell silent and still. I remember trying my hardest to stay awake all night in hopes of seeing the first flake fall. Tonight I caught it. My small daughter, the future countess of Bonespire cuddled close to me, we watched the snow fall and I promised her that one day, she will love this day as much as I do.

I suppose it feels fitting that I became the countess-consort of a place that boarders the everwinter. Perhaps it was destined from when I was a small child. I wonder if that means somewhere, someone argued that I could do this, be a leader. Some days, it sure feels like someone is playing a joke on me.

Relationship Note on Porter

Does anyone have a remedy to remove squid ink? My skin is a deep shade of blue.

I have tried bathing in alcohol and while it has lessened the effect of the ink. It's still there.

I will also pay if anyone can think of a prank that tops this.

Jokes about Bastards are never funny.

Insinuating someone is pregnant with one in public, and how thrilled their family will be is not only insulting to the individual but also the family.

Some people should think twice before they speak.
