The Marquessa and I have made fast friends this past week. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to spend more time with her. She gifted me some peach wine which I am sure I will enjoy soon enough.

Please do not leave vague entries in your journal. I have had several people ask me 'What did I do this time?" and while they may not entirely be in the wrong to think such things, I would rather have done something to warrant such a question.
Though I do understand your situation and as I wrote before, do not hesitate to send such things my way, I shall ensure that you will never find yourself in a situation where you find the subject lacking, again. I will sort the wheat from the chaff, or the cucumbers from the underdeveloped carrots as it were.
We shall never be quenched... by small carrots.

As always, my cousin, the marvelous Marquessa, has carried the house through more trying times. Though I do wonder about her current state of seeking a spouse. As someone whom does enjoy the chase I fear that I have watched her trip and fall and stumble about like a newly born fawn. It would be adorable, were she not the landed power in Granato. I feel as though I must set up a proper match for her, so for all those unwed men out there looking for something more secure, do seek me out and I shall veto your skills and abilities prior to setting you up for a time with my cousin.

Hmmm, there is a good Lycene, and then there is a g.o.o.d!!! one. One of these days Luis or Ariella, if she is back in port, or I will manage to get Quenia into some good fun, no guarantees it is good the way she would mean it though. The lord who is courting Quenia now seems to have a sense of humor, perhaps could entice him into helping.

Collect alcohol. Silks love drinking expensive shit, right? And I just so happen to stock liquor cabinets in my shop. Best liquor cabinets you'll ever see. Your bottles will be prematurely aging themselves to sit on my shelves.

Start a book club! Read books! Ride horses, ride the waves on a ship! Learn how to paint, to dance, to sing, if you haven't mastered those already! Learn how to use a blade, or an axe, or a quill! Learn to write poetry, or collect small momentos or wines. Go diving for pearls, or spear-fishing, or grow a garden!

It is a difficult thing to begin with, trusting someone with your own secrets. Trying to discern if they will be a good partner to you, and your family. Even more difficult to forgive ourselves when betrayed, feeling we should have known sooner. That we should have seen some sign, no matter how small. I think perhaps when we are able to forgive ourselves, is when we are able to move forward. But how long is long enough?

I had the good fortune to attend a dinner hosted by Marquessa Quenia Igniseri recently, and all of her innate qualities as a charming conversationalist, gracious hostess, and an all around intelligent individual were on full display. Having the opportunity to sit down, dine, and drink with her, her family and friends was a rather noteworthy occasion.

Spoken like someone who has never heard Princess Sabella Grayson sing. The stars turn because they dance to the music she creates while merely humming to herself brushing her hair. When she actually sings horses become unicorns, lizards become dragons, people smile across Arvum and know not why, while others weep for the beauty they may never get to hear.
Her singular peer, of course, is the Nightingale, so called because the songbirds of the day grew jealous of the perfection of her voice and cast her into the night.
To be true, I have never been so envious of the people of Arvum as I am of those who will get to hear the two sing together. Surely myths will be born that night. Though are they myths when those putting on the show truly are legends?
