Sparring her has the same impact as wrangling a pissed off cat into a cold bath. I appreciate the attitude she carries aside those little needles of hers, though.

I've heard so many refer to Joslyn like a warrior-woman, running the gauntlet, sparring and such. To see her calmly, clad only in a towel while teaching a small weapons lesson patiently, capably and confidently (and with a bit of amusement) tends to confirm that opinion of others.

I finally got a chance to spar with Joslyn and it was great. She hits really hard! I have something to work towards that is for certain. I really enjoyed the time we spent together, hopefully we can perhaps hang out again or I can spar with her when I have trained a bit more!

It's an interesting thing, to be on both sides of the divide - the soldier who went out to battle and got hurt, and the one waiting for her loved one to awaken after such a severe blow.
I respect Joslyn for her skill and her dedication, of course. I would never ask her to stay behind when her blades might turn the tide.
But gods, if it isn't anguish more exquisite than any wound I have suffered personally, to watch her laid out and unconscious.
She has recovered. She is well.
For this I thank Lagoma and Gild and the Queen of Endings.

With some people, you can pick up months later and it'll feel like no time has passed at all.
Joslyn came to dinner the other night. And though she's been terribly busy with her new lieges and duties, seeing her again made it seem like we'd only just parted yesterday.
I'm glad to have her back in my life.

A great person to get together with for some good easy going company and drinks from Tor, which she always has in store. Along with this, Joslyn takes all of my teasing and throws it back at me. When I need good company, she is usually at the top of the list of people.

A new ongoing patron of the House. She came to visit with a friend, and between the three of us we had a very lovely evening in the pool. I hope, and fortunately expect to see a great deal more of her around the house, and maybe her friend as well.

While not a noblewoman, Miss Joslyn Manicelli acts as an impeccable representative for her Duchess and House. She also has a wonderful sense of aesthetics and a very Lycene manner of being. I realise that may sound as a back-handed compliment from an Oathlander, but I mean it in the most positive of ways.

I had the opportunity to watch this woman of Fidante fidelity spar in the Gauntlet the other eve. It was a grueling fight with the Princess Alis, and while Joslyn won, it was a hard earned victory. The conversation afterwards was pleasant, but the memory I am so vividly left with is that she knew how to handle a sword. I'll just have to hope I'm never on the wrong end of it, with her.

A trusted friend and confidante of Juliet. Distressingly young to an ageing widow's eyes; troublingly close in age to my own eldest offspring, in all honesty. It is quite perturbing to think how soon they might be pitched into affairs of state. Well, in all honesty it would be perturbing were they merely to be in line to brave the courts of the Lyceum and the broader Compact. But nowadays? The prospect is more than a little daunting. Yet observing Joslyn reminds me that competence and confidence can indeed go hand in hand, even among those who now look so very youthful to me.

So much more than a handmaiden. She is my very best friend; my oldest friend and my dearest friend. It warms my heart to have her here in Arx. We used to get into the most delicious fun in Tor. As children we would try to sneak into parties and sometime we would succeed for a time before being ushered out. I hope she can forgive me for how the city has changed me.
