I have the very first piece of my own armour! It is a belt, which is not too protective, but it is the first piece of an incoming set. And it is wonderful - just what I was hoping for. Lady Liliana is a treasure!

I stopped by the Explorer's seaside gauntlet. The caravel is very big and beautiful, and the event seemed to be quite fun. I even tried my hand at climbing the rigging, and much to my surprise I managed it! Of course I fell into the net when I tried to walk along the boom, but even that was fun since I did not get hurt. It was definitely worth trying and I encourage everyone to go to the next one. You might even find you've an aptitude for such things, unlike me.

There was a very serious bath at The Grotto which was very well attended. I am not sure who had more fun, those trying to remain serious, or those who broke or gave up who were over in the other pools. Being one of the last four to be knocked out all at once by one of Lord Giulio's jokes may give us all a bit of a story to tell in times to come. It was fun though, and interesting to see both the tricks that were brought out to try to make people laugh and the solid composure that everyone displayed. Or tried to.

Freedom. What is it worth to you? What would you do in order to remain free? This is a question that has recently come to mind, and though i certainly don't expect anyone to answer, even if they see my journal, still, it bears thinking on. It might even be relevant to current events somehow.

The water was so cold, I still don't know how anyone managed to do more but run in, and then right back out again. Me, I thought my toes were going to fall off! They didn't, in case anyone was worried. I hope Mangata liked the event as much as the rest of us did.

The small event at Bold Espressions was well attended and a lot of fun. I think I do kind of like running such things. And the tiara that Ryhalt gave me won compliments as did Mistress Petal's dress. That mystery designer is a wonder! I hope all the attendees enjoyed themselves as much as I did!

Today I met several people in the Ambassador Salon. It was fun to flirt with Duke Harlan, who did not seem to mind. Princess Liara seems to me like the sort of person I should like to get to know better, and Mistress Melody is very playful and fun. I think it was a nice relaxing and enjoyable evening, and look forward to many more such evenings.

The snow war games were very exciting, even though I did not get a chance to partake. I did get to watch some and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. I am really glad to see it. Poor Sabella and Niklas - I hope they did not injure themselves other than perhaps their pride. They had one very interesting sled run.
In other news, I spent some time in Bold Espressions today, and got dubbed the Hospitality Liaison. I kind of like that title, perhaps any of us Farshaws can use it while there? Unless we're there as customers I mean. Helping out and giving praise to the wonderful people of Westrock Reach for all their hard work.

And now, Bold Espressions is open. This is very exciting to me personally, and also to the people of Westrock Isle! I do think we still need to find a full time manager for the place, or maybe promote one of our people already working there. Quite a few people came by to try the various coffees and confections, and it was very nice to see everyone.
In addition, I have learned that it is not always so easy as might be assumed to be hosting such a crush. Ah well, I shall think on it, and work on it, and next time, do a better job.
I hope everyone who came by had a great time and will come back for more coffee. Or maybe the ginger cake.

At the Ambassador salon the other day there was an interesting discussion on truth and deceipt, with many interesting thoughts posited. At the end of the day, I hope everyone got some deep thoughts to think. I know I did.

It seems there are many duels these days. I wonder if it is in part a release from the tension of the war, now that it is over. Or maybe it is just people being people. With so many people here in Arx, it is no wonder that they cannot all get along, all the time.

Today was the Valardin warsnow games. I ended up on a team with Lord Cullen, Prince Ectorion, Princess Katarina, and Lady Signe. We fought valiantly, but our snow fort ended up looking like cheese with many holes in it. Tasty as a cheese, but alas, not so good as a snow fort. Next time! Congratulations to the Bees Knees, winning team, all the competitors. I had a lot of fun. And now to the baths, before I shiver into a million pieces from the cold.

I went to the sip 'n spar at the Golden Hart today. It was good to catch up with friends and family, even in times of sadness and trouble. Maybe even more so during such times. The sparring was good to watch, though I think this is the first time there that I have seen so many people decide to fight without armour. It makes me wonder if this is the start of a trend. I am at the least completely certain that such fighting is not for me, which may well please my family. This does not mean that adventures are not for me; I think I still will have to go off and find things or learn things. Preferably both.
