Went to Princess Sorrel's performance yesterday on Copper. It was absolutely spectacular. I enjoyed it immensely. I thought it was a fabulous idea she had to get all of us to stand up and sing two lines with her. I think everyone did - even those who felt they cannot sing well.
I hope it was an appealing tribute to the Lady Copper, wheresoever she might be.
Afterwards, Amari introduced me to her dog, and then I went to visit Harlan, who is still housebound. But looking ever so much better than previously.

Ashford House held an open house, hosted by Master Cedric. It was a lot of fun, and very nice to see Duke Harlan downstairs! (He was wounded, and is slowly recovering so that is a very nice thing.)
Lady Olivia was darling, as usual, and I got to meet Lady Rhiannon for the first time. She seems a bit quieter and shy, but she is also lovely. There were quite a few guests and Cedric got them all to throw pastry at each other for the 150th annual pastry toss.
I do not recall last year hearing of the 149th, but - perhaps I managed to miss it, with everything ongoing.

Bugs? Rats? Good gracious, it sounds like you have tales to tell!
Such an adventure I have never seen!

I love my family and friends.

I spent some time with the lovely Marquessa Reigna and Lady Shae today, discussing matters of etiquette and diplomacy. It was a lot of fun, and Keaton Hall is a very welcoming place.

I am pleased to report that my beau is doing better, and expected to fully recover. (This wording chosen on purpose to tease Lady Elsbetta!)
(And also Lady Amari, as she wants to know who he is.)

Had coffee with Lady Amari and Scout Rowenova. It was a good discussion and a lot of fun. But how did I end up needing to send a messenger to Princess Katarina out of it all?

I spent some time teaching over the last while. Different people, different things. But it's interesting how everyone I meet seems to be looking to improve themselves - their learning, their skills, their armour.
I guess we all have released our breaths for the moments, breathing again. And looking to the future.

The ball at the palace was very much fun, though I admit I found myself wishing for the presence of someone who could not attend. My beau, as Elsbetta so gently said. So I left the ball and headed off to find him, which was - both a delight and a terror. Improvements definitely can be seen, but there is still weakness enough to leave me fretting.
It does seem though that things move in the right direction.

Princess Alarissa's Fashion Night out was lovely. Such ideas for new outfits. Which is a very good thing, as there's a ball coming up. I have a couple seamstresses very busy for the next couple of days.

Despite fretting and feeling somewhat sad about all the lost lives, I went out to a snowball fight, hosted by Lady Delilah. It was a lot of fun, though I am still terrible at such things. I did learn however that I am not so bad at snowball wall destruction.

Lured out for an evening by Lord Pharamond, I enjoyed watching the sparring at the Golden Hart. Though I do not spar myself, I enjoy the camaraderie. Princess Valencia is a wonderful hostess.
It was good to meet new people and run into acquaintances I've not seen in quite some time, even if I didn't stay perhaps as long as I could have.

Jordan
I have learned that Sir Jordan died, protecting his liege. This leaves me somewhat conflicted emotionally. I am sad he is gone - he was always friendly and honorable, the few times I met him. I liked him, as he seemed to be a good person. I regret that I will not be able to get to know him better.
And how does that lead to conflict? Well. Truthfully? I am very glad that his liege still lives.

The toll keeps climbing.
Day by day the price gets steeper. And yet, the price for doing nothing is still higher, and will always be so.
It brings to crystal clarity memories of those now lost, and the sudden sharp fear when someone I am fond of doesn't reply to a messenger. Followed by the worry and relief to learn they are alive but badly injured. Alive and will recover thankfully.

I only recently learned about Sir Thorley. It's not something I knew my whole life, but it is something that sort of explains what to me was a mystery previously. I am glad to have another cousin, I won't lie. Especially given all that Sir Thorley has done for us - helping us when we needed it, keeping us safe, holding our honour in his capable hands.
I am so proud of him, so happy for him and Commandant Violet, you have no idea.

I am always sorry to hear of the deaths of someone dear to those yet alive. In the case of Mistress Bashira, this is someone I also knew and thus my sadness extends somewhat to myself. I know that my loss is but a fraction of what those who were very close to her. And for their loss, I am deeply sorry.

Tala may have a future as a bard. I love her verse, especially the last line.
I am, I note, not sure how I managed to see your writing today, but perhaps because I was thinking of Tala, and that toffee that ended up mostly all over poor Sir Thorley's hair.

I am so exhausted. I don't think I have ever been this tired in my entire life.
