For my List of Things:
* Try Setarco Fire. *check mark*
(The above was not originally on the List of Things, but as it has been completed thanks to a rather charming courtesan of House Pravus, Deacon Pateris, I thought its inclusion necessary. It was accomplished during an exceptionally wonderful crossing of a few paths at the Ambassador Salon that words hardly could do justice.)
* Sit in the hot springs of Giant's Reach.
* See the Aerie of Storms in Stormwall.
There are more, but these were ones added this last week and, thus, require recording.

I had occasion to catch up with cousins I have not seen in what feels a lifetime, as well as meet the famed Dame Morrighan and a Valardin prince.
It is both wonderful and maddening to know Prince Kieran has not changed a bit from childhood, though I swear appropriately horrible revenge if I ever see one frog in the villa. I had half a mind to bribe the staff into keeping him away from my room, but it’d be pointless; he’d charm them to his whim despite it. Princess Echo I don’t think I’ve seen since the wedding but get the feeling we could truly be quick and close friends beyond our family ties.
Just when those tinges of homesickness start to settle over me, the fates somehow conspire to send me reminders that Arx, too, has many joys to offer and make me glad to be here.

I think I need to visit the market and purchase a book that I can write in. I doubt I'm the only one who, as a child, started a list of Things I Want To Do When I Grow Up. Even as we supposedly grow up, that list likely continues to grow, if perhaps change a little. I feel like there are a hundred things I must have collected on that list, some of which I have trouble always remembering. A book, though, would help me collect all those thoughts, whims, and things. Is it childish to want to write or etch something as simple as, "Gwenna's Things," on the cover of it? Maybe I should think of something more inspired.

The Redrain Open Court was quite wonderful! Catching up with family I have not seen in a handful of years mixed with lovely new faces and all manner of fascinating discussions? Truly, it is a wonder my mouth does not hurt from smiling and my neck from looking to and fro! I would not change it for anything and could not feel any more fortunate for having been able to be there. His Grace was too kind to mention my recent arrival to the city. Duke Cristoph, a cousin via my mother's Laurent heritage, could not have been warmer as we reacquainted. Princess Marian is all and more of what the tales told of her. I briefly discussed clothing with Mistress Petal as well as traded small stories about flavored ice with Lord Ian Kennex and Princess Consort Alarissa. Ah, but I could go on all day mentioning the great conversations I had and with whom, but suffice it to say, the whole gathering felt warm and welcoming, which I imagine was His Grace's intent. It is a memory I will treasure, especially hearing of such beloved members of Arx lost to us and the heavy or wondering hearts they leave behind.

The city of Arx is truly such a wonder. Every corner I turn, I discover something new and charming. Even the dullest rock can be wonderful if you just look at it the right way. While it is autumn, it still feels quite warm to me. I imagine gossiping by a hearth here is going to take a bit of getting used to. They say the blood thins quickly here, and with winter not so far off, at least I've come at a good time to allow that process to start.
At the very least, I've an excuse to visit some shops and purchase more suitable attire once finances are settled. I can only imagine what wonders those will all have in store!
