What a beautiful event at the Blackshore Manor. I suspect the coins handed upon entry will soon become collectibles, lovely idea!
I do need to get my hands on a deck of cards of that Queen game.

My favorite part about winter is everyone huddling in bars and lounges and taverns which makes you run into people you've not seen in a long time.
I do enjoy those big gatherings, always joyful and entertaining and full of music.

With the good news pouring in of the whirlpool's abrupt departure and the mix of news from the Oathlands, I am called to Artshall to do what I was entrusted to. I love my work for the most part, I enjoy it and it gives me a sense of satisfaction but now I have a sense of dread, hoping I will succeed in finding the needed balance.

I was overwhelmed by the attendance at the grand opening of the Dire Bee Lounge.
It was so delightful to spend time with friends and answer questions about Artshall and bees.
People are very curious about bees.
Maybe we should hold lectures.
About bees.
With bees.
Maybe I should let Lady Alessia pet one.

I have passed by the window of the Dire Bee Lounge and saw people inside, sitting and eating.
I am so pleased people have access to all that Artshall has to offer.
I'm proud.

I have been so absorbed in preparations for the Honey Festival that I seem to have neglected any other project I had on my plate. With that behind us and the lounge in place, I find it difficult to return to my old projects.

I need something new.

The Laurent mansion is engulfed in the scent of honey as the cooks work hard to have everything ready before the festival this weekend. I have actually been banished from the kitchen due to over indulging. Most things are ready, including my gown which was stitched to perfection by Mistress Caprice. However, I do not have shoes. I need shoes.

So. Many. Babies.
Thank goodness for bee wax rolls in one's ears.
I think I will build myself a room in another floor.

Oh and congratulations, Duke!

I am overjoyed and delighted to see the well reception of honeysilk by the peers and fashion lovers of the city.

Since I have been accused before of shaving bees for my desire for velvet, I have decided to share with you part of the report sent to me by the lovely Artshallian, Antoine, which I have left in charge of the production of the fabric, containing some fun facts.

(This is a middle section of a report, some blank spaces are in place of numbers and ingredients. Funnier if read with a French accent).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Lady Laurent,
I am sending you this wagon with the first bolts of honeysilk produced. We have managed to rid of all the stickiness and tested several dyes to assure they are taken well with the fabric. The results are magnific.
However, I must report my Lady, Pierre and Jacque, they did not do too well working with us. The sweet smell of the fabric, my Lady, it made them hungry all the time. Pierre gained two stone in the months we were blending, he kept trying to taste the product, you see. We have sent him to the brewery instead, his wife left him. What a mess. He keeps complaining that the fabric, if you put it to your ear, it buzzes. I think he is going through the products in the brewery as well. Jacque too, he ate more honey than he blended and so we sent him to the extraction farms. That too, I think, was not so wise. He needs new pants.
Some good news! Pierre is not entirely useless and he managed to blend a new honey mead! We sent Duke Cristoph three crates in the first wagon. Jacque sent some crates of fresh honey too.
Will you visit soon, my Lady? I will keep them in line until then.
Antoine
New mead! New Honey! Just in time for the festival.
Ask for poems about something you love, they said.
You will certainly understand those, they said.
Either participants have been entirely vague on purpose or I do not like bees enough. There is no third option.
The winner of the poetry contest is Lady Sedna Redreef with the following entry:
"Bumblebee in the Garden"
By Lady Sedna Redreef
With a thin dollop of honey on the tip of my spoon,
I stir the water, hoping it will calm enough to taste.
Watching bitter amber bleed into the liquid,
from the dry leaves as they soak.
I stir the water, hoping it will calm enough to taste.
Flit away,
from the dry leaves as they soak.
Springtime is in repose.
Flit away,
to flowers farther,
while my heart flutters,
and I wait for your return.
While my heart flutters,
watching bitter amber bleed into the liquid,
and I wait for your return
with a thin dollop of honey on the tip of my spoon.
Congratulations to the winner. Enjoy your reward.
A very amusing family game at the Laurent mansion, lead but our fearless leader.
It is always exciting to find the little details about those around you that you never considered finding out about!
Also too many people like blue. Purple, I choose you!
