The Festival of Commons was the most fun I've had in a long time - a much-needed break from work.
I intend to make some renovations in the Boroughs which should make things less bleak for those currently in poverty. I have begun to set the groundwork for a free medical clinic in the Commons Square; the building has been built and I have found an aspiring apothecary and medic who has agreed to operate it. Hopefully, with a little nudging, I will also get him involved with the Physicians Guild.
Next on the list: fixing unemployment! And draining the swamp.

I'm not angry at anyone since the Nox'alfar simply proved to be what I thought they were: capricious blood magic practitioners who were here mostly for entertainment and have always intended to use us only as far as it benefited them, with little interest in keeping their end of the bargain or caring for us short-lived humans. I found it difficult to believe they would adhere to the same tenets of honor we do. Why would they?
The duel could have been honored - no one should make a threat they're incapable of carrying out - but it sounds more like it would just be a delayed execution more than a legitimate duel. I would not slaughter someone with a magical sword and feel like I've been avenged, but yeah, different standards I guess.

I still feel a little bad for turning on her at the end of the melee, but with how hard she swings that expertly-crafted sword of hers I knew I would be in for a fight and Lord Ansel - while undoubtedly a skilled fighter - wasn't likely to challenge me any more than Duke Niccolo did (mind you, he still did, but in a far less painful manner!)
And sure enough, she just needed to get past my guard a few times and I was done for. No amount of steel plate could save me and I could not knock her out before she could hit me; that was the ultimate plan.
Still, I have no regrets, and I applaud her victory.

What little I knew of Lord Damon Wyrmguard I liked: he was a well-spoken man, a skilled warrior, visited my shop on seemingly a routine basis, and seemed to have the good sense to have my sister as a friend. My apprentices were upset by the news of his disappearance, and presumably, his untimely death.
I am displeased to notice his most recent journal entries implied he was in emotional turmoil and the darkness may be closing in. These are troubled times...

Intending to do a large-scale martial event some time after the shelter event. There's quite a few people spending their hours in training centers as of late.
Possible ideas include:

The downside to having this idea is it's uncouth for me to participate in them.
