It has been an eventful week. I was fortunate to be given copies of the esteemed Princess-Consort Alarissa Thrax's works for the library, and the latest tomes from Commander Sparte Fatchforth, whose riddles are no easy feat to solve. Now I have been gifted by fortune once more, this time with the excellent works of Master Jyri Tersk for the library of the Gilded Page. My thanks to all the generous authors who have made the Page what it is.

It astounds me every time I think that this is Baron Clement's nephew.
I met him for the first time at the incredible ceremony celebration for the Baron and Baroness' wedding. I'm not sure which of us was more surprised, more horrified. I will say that I look forward to future encounters. And songs.

It's interesting, what people think they are entitled to have an opinion on with no real knowledge of a situation.
Empathy, I've noted of late, is in short supply when it is needed most. Accusations abound and the world grows more fractious with them.

Second place was won by Princess Coraline Thrax, for her cautionary tale, "The Journey of One."
Third place went to Master Derovai Voss, for his saucy endeavor, "A Book of Excellent Poems about Not-So-Excellent People."

This time of year is not an easy one for me, but I shall have a new painting, painted by King Alaric himself, to cheer me, and the love of good friends to make it warm. I look forward to placing this painting over the mantle at Greenmarch Lodge... though prudently, I had better not. Maybe just for a day, to see my brother's reaction...

The strangest of companions sometimes make for the most interesting of conversations. I certainly didn't expect to be talking about that which we spoke on, and I was pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to future conversations, if not future sparring. Best let these bruises heal first.
