I'm thrilled and grateful to announce (last minute, I know) the final two prizes for tonight's book launch!

An incredible painting done by Lord Jyri Whitehawk, whose subject must be seen to be believed. It is /divine/! I almost thought it was going to leave the canvas and scorch me! I am more tempted than ever to abscond with these prizes.

And last, but most certainly not least, Mistress Josephine, jeweler to my heart, miracle worker and Minx-tamer, has created a piece that makes me weep when I think about giving it away. Stygian, black gold, and iridescite, OH and did I mention, dawnstones? Gild preserve me and help me fight this temptation!

Tonight will be a night to remember!

The book launch is soon and my excitement and gratitude grows. I've had the brocade cloak, hat and gloves prizes made, and I won't lie, keeping them has been high on my list of priorities that I shouldn't prioritize. And then there's the fabulous scents from the incredibly talented Mistress Jacali! I rarely see such beauty in design and she has only grown in talent since The Gala. Not to mention the custom portrait prize agreed to by the exceptional Lady Willow Nightgold! If you have yet to see her work, ask Princess Reese. It's breathtaking. Last but most certainly not least, there is a painting done by His Majesty, King Alaric IV, entitled 'Voice of House Don'tgotothedarkwaterareyoucrazy' and must be seen to be fully appreciated. It's art, after all. High art.

There is only one prize left to procure and I am open to ideas!

The prizes are coming together for the book launch event! I couldn't be more excited! Amazing custom perfumes, beautiful custom paintings and extraordinary brocade pieces (cloak, hat and gloves) and that's just the start. Now to figure out which prizes to match with which contest...

The planning of a new event is something that gives me great pleasure, and I am grateful to Master Moonsong for indulging me. The wait will almost be... unBEARable!

Yes, I did happen to recite another godsawful poem at Princess Helena's event, and why yes, I shall record it here for posterity.

You can be so reckless with your heart
but it's not made of steelsilk
It's actually made of blood and gore
I don't think I should be able to see your heart
but then again, I am no healer
so maybe I should just stick to poetry

My dearest, farewell. Can't you see,
this ill-fated affair was doomed from the start.
My people are human;
Your people are human.
It could never have worked.

Recall me fondly;
shed a tear for me
and two
for a world that could wrack us with such anguish
all for the simple crime of removing your heart
with my blade.

(most certainly not inspired by personal experience)

Relationship Note on Willow

The Gilded Page is extremely honored to host the work of Lady Willow Nightgold in the cultural stacks. 'Of Elves and Men' is an insightful tome, as brilliant as the Lady whose hand penned it, and sure to give a better understanding to those who are fortunate enough to borrow it from the library.

Would you like to participate in a collaborative story with the infamous Minx of the Marches? It's a very particular project, near and dear to my heart. Not for those with delicate sensitivities, but those with brave constitution ought to send a messenger with their interest!

Some familiar knowledge of at least one of the Gods of the Pantheon is a must with this particular collaboration!

Compensation offered, and of course, a copy of the finished work upon completion.

Secrecy is essential until publication.

I had a teacher once (and when I say teacher, I do not mean the traditional Scholar, but rather a fellow traveler in the education of life) who taught me that hatred is only the coward's revenge for being intimidated. And rather than build walls against hatred, tis far better to build bridges over it, that you will not be blinded by it. So I do not hate, but seek to build bridges and welcome any and all who would do likewise.

I have fulfilled a dream, the one piece of my wardrobe that was lacking, that I have dreamt of for years now. Never have I felt more decadent.

I thought, though, that once fulfilled, I would be content, able to rest and just enjoy the brush of it against my skin and know that nothing could possibly be greater than this.

And yet...

Now my gaze turns to fireweave and a new dream is born.

Relationship Note on Niklas

There has been an influx of new works in the Gilded Page, and I couldn't be happier. My gratitude is extended in particular to Prince Niklas Grayson, who has been instrumental in finding books to grace the shelves and give patrons new reading to devour, without being asked and without asking for anything in return. His generosity is inspiring.

A truly educated person tends to be someone who has come to understand that information almost always turns out to be at best incomplete and very often false, misleading, fictitious, mendacious - just dead wrong.

I reflect that I could use more truly educated people in my life.

It is my great pleasure to announce that prior to Princess-Consort Alarissa Thrax's exciting dinner auction, there will be a game to take part in!

This difficult puzzle of a contest will start in one weeks' time and run up until the eve of the auction. On the first day of the contest, I shall be posting the first line or lines of a poem that has been written to give people a clue as to the identity of Princess Alarissa's dangerous mystery diner. Every two days after, I shall post further lines that give more hints.

Be one of the first three to guess the illustrious dinner guest correctly and win an amazing prize of jewelry, and a copy of the limited-edition book I will be writing exclusively for the contest. Everyone who guesses correctly after the first three people will also win a copy of the book.

Each entry will require a donation of 1,000 silver to Princess Alarissa's Thursday's Child charity, and each person may donate for up to three entries (3,000 silver total). Prizes and books will be handed out on the night of the charity auction, or if one cannot attend, will be messengered shortly after.

Good luck, and look for the first clue to be published soon!

<OOC - Contest will start Jan. 01, 2019 and continue until Jan. 12, 2019 at 19:30; money should be sent by messenger to Monique, along with guesses; guesses will not be confirmed until the mystery diner has been announced, and then winners will be awarded their prizes; any questions can be directed to Monique>

Limerance smiles upon me. A surprise library is the very best kind of library. I have heard tales of sorrow and yet, perhaps I have no room left for it, have exhausted such burden, because there is only love in my heart.

Recorded for posterity:

Eidolon, an original work by Lady Monique Greenmarch

Eidolon
I would be sharp for you
like a knife, glittering ethereally in the night
like a brilliant question from the mouth of
a promising young student
or a delicious cheddar cheese
How is my love like a cheese?
cheddar cheese is hard... and pale yellow to orange,
the color of the rising sun
Our love rises, it does not set
paired souls, we are a round
cut in half, destined to be reunited
in the magic of digestion.
