And now it is spring, and time for the land to green again, with the joy of life. It is a refreshing season, full of promise and hope.

Missed the balls all this week due to feeling a bit poorly. I expect there will be others to attend, and many lovely dresses to wear.

Meantime, I am slowly extending and deepening my friendships. I do enjoy building relationships.

I am almost beside myself with the absolute amazement I feel. I have tested for the Society of Explorers. And passed.

Today I got enough sleep, and I am pleased. I am turning my attention now to determining the best outfits for me and Harlan for the Fire and Ice ball. Suggestions are welcome.

I have no idea what to wear for the fire and ice ball. But I feel that somehow Harlan and I should wear somewhat matching outfits.

This week so far has been interesting. I have been somewhat at loose ends, not sure what to do, and something somehow came clear in my mind. If I do not know what to do about the big issues, then at least there are some smaller ones I do know what to do about. And perhaps in the process I will gain more knowledge or ideas about what to do for the bigger issues.

For now, I have plans to make, people to talk to, and parties to throw.

I nearly forgot to mention. Ryhalt told me Ciaran has arrived in Arx. That rogue! He didn't even tell his baby sister!

Well, I suppose there might be reason for that. Maybe.

But now I shall have to find him and give him a big hug. And scold him for not telling me he's here!

The Rite of Gloria was a wonderful event to attend. It was a bit chilly, but the drinks and the honour shown warmed us all.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to chat with Ryhalt for a bit. I miss my big brother.

I missed two of the balls, but did make it to the Grayson ball. I shall have to come up with something fabulous to wear to the Fire and Ice ball, as well. It was lovely to see the King out and dancing once again, even if I arrived late and did not get to dance with him this time. Princess Liara throws a wonderfully good party.

With the onset of winter comes reasons to stay home, warm and cuddle babies. And then I get all stircrazy and have to go out, to the archives, to the Hall of Heroes, to the Cathedral, to the coffee shop, to whatever party is going on.

I should probably go out more regularly, but I do find myself charmed by every day life.

One day, I will know what is going on.

Of course, that won't last for long, I'm sure. It never does. There's always something new happening, something else going on.

But it's nice to dream a bit, that one day I will understand.

Of course, usually just when I think I am going to, one of the babies wakes up, and I am startled out of such daydreams.

Winter brings with it a beauty all its own. Cold but beautiful.

Making snow figures is fun.

I don't think I wrote anything about my birthday when it passed. It was quietly spent with Harlan, and the twins. At 6 months, they're starting to be less squishy and a little more adorable every day.

And now that I've had that birthday, and I am officially 22, I feel like I maybe have begun to gain some experience in a variety of areas. This is not necessarily a bad thing.

Some parts about being a Voice and Duchess I enjoy more than others.

This is probably true about many things, but there are definitely days when I am more pleased with the way things work, and others when I feel I am barely keeping my head above water.

Today is one of the good days. Of course it will take time for plans to come to fruition, but at least there is something that we can plan, and work with. And hopefully it will work out well.

I have been remiss to post of late, but I suppose that happens. Emilie and Brennan are nearly six months old, and they are adorable little trouble makers. I am very glad for nannies, nursemaids and others who are assisting in keeping our daring duo out of trouble. I can only imagine how much trouble they will get into when they are mobile.

More mobile.

They're getting there, I swear, trying to go so fast. I sort of see why some have more babies - they grow so fast!

Happy Birthday, Duke Cristoph. The joust was well fought and entertaining to watch. A resounding success.

The Altar dedication for Vellichor was very inspiring. The altar and the canticle are breathtaking, and the gifts left by everyone were so thoughtful. I was impressed with how generous all of the folks of Arx are.

I seem to be spending a lot of my days going through old dusty tomes. There are worse things but I may have to find a way out on an adventure soon to counteract this.

Spending my time catching up quietly with friends and research, not necessarily in that order.

And jogging again - I never thought I'd enjoy that, but it seems times change.

I have only just learned that Countess Stahlben started her labor pains in Bold Espressions! It had not previously occurred to me that coffee might have such a use. I am pleased that mother and child are doing well, and hopefully the coffee shop gains still more business due to this happy event.

There is much to be said for day to day activity, the comfort of familiar tasks and the joy of beloved people nearby. I wish that everyone has the same joy, among others, for as long a time as is possible.

Alas, these are very interesting times, so that time may be short.
