Clarification from House Saik

To the men and women of the capital of Arx:
House Saik would like to extend a heartfelt apology for the confusion that has been caused by one of its own. To be clear, Karadoc Saik was not acting with malicious intent. His desire was deeply rooted in an effort to stave off suffering, for one and all. Unfortunately, that effort was twisted by miscommunication and, it would seem, misinformation. This does not erase the frustration it has caused.
Therefore, I wish to extend my hand to the Mercier family - Irrespective of the current issues, which I shall not endeavour to repeat here. Our two families share a history, and it would be remiss of me to let that history crumble while Tolamar Brand lurks outside the very walls of Arx. Thus, House Saik shall donate the first batch of its wine bottled this coming season to the Mercier family.
Furthermore, I will take three children from the commoner caste that show innate talent and I shall instruct them in the ways of knighthood, for free.
It is my hope that House Saik can be reconciled with those that it so closely works with, both within Arx and across the Compact.
