On Mirrors, Part Two

Posted by Giada on 07/07/21
To the Faithful:

Within the tennets of the Thirteenth god, there are stories of mirrors in our faith and their nature as reminders of Duality and the discipline of Reflection. And then there are stories of mirrors and fools.

To treat a mirror without due respect is at best sacreligious and at worst a dismissal of the Dark Reflection's teachings. They are sacred to Him and to His worship, meant no more to be a toy than holy water is meant to quench one's thirst. When one employs a mirror with respect for the Thirteenth, they are acknowledging the unknown and the space for doubt, challenging themselves to improve and refine within that space. It is a holy ordinance meant to elevate us beyond base existance and teach us the truth about ourselves.

The Faithful of the Compact are not uncivilized. We do not engage in the kind of profane practices found among the Abandoned. If any among us need guidance, let them come to the Shrine and speak to His Mirrormasks, let spend time within Reflection before the holy mirrors. Let them find the answers to their questions within the Faith.

In the name of the Thirteenth,
