To the Reavers of the Mourning Isles

Posted by Margot on 06/23/20
To the Reavers of the Mourning Isles;

While I know that the changes that have been wrought in the last months and years have troubled many of you, diminishing both your sport and incomes I give you a new opportunity.

Our enemies are still in and near our waters; Eurusi, Shavs, the coward Ivan and all who follow him.

I offer the following:

For every slave liberated the Eurusi or Shavs, or any thrall freed from the houses of Sungreet still claiming loyalty to Ivan and his false Prophet and brought unmolested to Tydehall, Tyde will pay 1000 silver. Of course our brave warriors are encouraged to (and rightfully should) keep any other inanimate property aquired in the process.

To each of these now liberated citizens of the Compact, upon swearing loyalty to the Mourning Isles and acknowledging Alaric IV as the one true king, they will be provided a warm set of clothing and 1000 silver to start their new, free lives. As well if they wish it those with minimal skills will be provided with paid positions working the land and seas of the Tydelands, those artisans and skilled individuals will be provided basic tools of their trade to aid in establishing their starts in commerce with the agreement they will work and trade within the Tydelands for a period of at least 5 years, and those men who wish to fight back against their former oppressors will be given martial training and postings.

Let the hunt begin,

Duchess Margot Tyde

Free people don't need to be 'brought' anywhere. Or bought. Reavers tend to have a problem understanding either of those two concepts.

--- Malvici Stance via Calypso ---
Seriously? I've made it clear (not that it needs to be said) that anyone under oath to me who takes a bounty for something they ought to be doing anyway is not going to like their reception when they get back to Southport. I can't believe this needs to be said, but here we are.

Thoughts and prayers.

--- Faith of the Pantheon Stance via Aureth ---
The Faith welcomes all efforts to offer new homes to freed slaves, as the Liberators have already been doing this for some years and of course, the more the merrier. Naturally, our infrastructure remains available to freed persons who also don't wish to go to Tyde.

--- Liberators Stance via Aleksei ---
Our assistance will always come without cost or contract to those newly freed. The Liberators do, however, frown upon assigning values of silver onto human lives, particularly when it profits those who have previously made their fortunes in selling souls into slavery.

--- Deepwood Stance via Samantha ---
House Deepwood will happily work with the Liberators in the Mourning Isles to provide choices without strings for any thrall whom wishes to find a new home of their choosing. Freedom with stipulations is merely thralldom re-imagined and do not condone this.
