Thursday's Child

After many hours of consideration and debate, it is with a heavy heart that I announce the shuttering of Thursday's Child. Throughout the last three years we have managed to procure and absolve nearly a third of all the debts of these children whose only crime was being born to families in debt, or born to tribes who refused to bend the knee. As of today Thursday's Child has raised fifteen million silver, which amounts to the debts of fifteen thousand young thralls procured. Absolved. They thrive.
I have not and will not forget the other thirty five thousand children. With his Grace, the Prince of Maelstrom and High Lord of Thrax's announcement at the assembly, the remaining children's debts will become part of the process of resolving and eliminating Thralldom in the isles over the next seven years and will find their own journey completed through that process.
My drive and dedication to this project that was to be my legacy will now be focused on the Isles proper and helping to ease our peoples worries, their financial burdens and fostering strength and unity during this period of transition. To give to my own children a brighter future with a legacy laid down by not just myself, but by the people the Isles on the whole. To let it be -our- legacy.
Because of all those who attended events and donated, who bid on auctions, gave tirelessly week after week, matched me coin for coin, fifteen thousand children are enjoying their childhood sooner, rather than later. I hope that those who joined us in freeing the children in the past will now join us in assisting those who find their freedom this year and in subsequent years and to ease the transition to their new lives as freedmen, prodigals, citizens within the Mourning Isles and the Compact.

It is a continuing joy to work with our neighbors in the Mourning Isles to ensure that the lowest of the low is not just free to live their life, but free to live their good, meaningful life. And that is a good work that will surely continue even beyond the successes so far.
