Commoners' Council Applications

The Commoners' Council is an advisory body tasked with bringing the concerns of the Upper and Lower Boroughs of Arx to the attention of the Crown, presenting issues before meetings of the Crown, and exercising oversight on Crown initiatives to improve conditions in the Boroughs. Councilors assist in the smooth functioning of the Compact by ensuring its responsiveness to the problems facing Arx at all levels of society, and are given funding as a body in exchange for the responsibilty to heed and address petitions from the people.
The terms of current Councilors are expiring soon. As we thank our Councilors for their service we welcome prospective members to seek admission to the Council. The Knights-Herald of the Crown will be overseeing the assignment of the next Council term -with the assistance of outgoing Councilor Joscelin Arterius, who will not be seeking to retain her position- through a process of nomination and representative polling to assign positions. Interested parties seeking membership on the Council should declare their intent along with a 250 silver filing fee. There are five positions on the council that we seek to fill.

(( OOC: To clarify, we are kickstarting the Commoners' Council back up again and this time looking to make it an @org with access to petitions and stuff to give it a more tangible presence in-game. This means we need a bigger council than before to meet org minimums, so in order to do that and not spend the next 800 years conducting interviews we're going to hold an election. If you'd like to run, nominate yourself via 'messenger/money calarian,joscelin|125=I am running for the council and here's my filing fee!' or something equivalent. After one week, assuming we have a decent turnout on interested characters, we'll follow up with a voting process. ))
