Cyphers and Journals

Please stop writing journals in code.
Thematically, white and black journals are there for posterity's sake. It defeats the purpose of having them if they can't be read and used by future generations.
OOCly, white journals are there to document public thoughts and ideally to spur RP. Black journals are there to record secrets for the character - but whoever plays your character after you won't be able to decode them. Also, as GMs it's irritating to see it because we can't reference it, use it to spur any reactions off of, or in any way know if whatever's said there makes any sense at all. And that's something we do read, because often black journals are relevant to the metaplot and the game as a whole, and it lets us tie in characters when we see opportunities to do so.
ALSO OOCly, it's really going against the spirit of what the journals are there for - to record character progress, knowledge, and thoughts, to provide another avenue of RP, and to get XP by contributing meaningfully to the fabric of the game. Just please stop.
Thanks.
