Plot Recruiters and Hooks

One thing I don't think anyone has touched yet that will be a particularly useful tool in the future that I want to explain to people are a couple of easily missed commands- 'plots/storyhook' and 'plots/findcontact'. For plots, one thing Tehom did in designing it was allowed us to link secrets to plots as hooks for characters. Say there's a plot about some dark secret in a noble house's past, and a few elements that tie into characters. A character could have a secret that ties into that, but he would not start as a member of the plot.

Instead, a character can be flagged as a recruiter, and if a secret is marked as a hook for a plot, they'll be referenced to that recruiter if they use the 'findcontact' command, and just see the recruiter's recruiter story with that 'plot/storyhook' command.

What this means is that people designing plots can also arrange it so people find out about it IC, with an IC message provided under that storyhook message, and anyone that's tagged with a hook under their secrets can then find them. This means that as characters get metaplot secrets, they will likely be directed towards plots and find PCs to loop them, and explain the story to them in scenes.

Now for people running their own plots, we're fine with also nudging people towards that, just be sure to set a storyhook with how a character might be found and what might tip off that they are involved, and if you want to request people get pointed at you, we might take a look at people needing more hooks.
