Esra's death

Esra wasn't the first noble to publicly meltdown in white journals and wind up denobled and excommunicated, but doing so that spectacularly certainly made him the talk of Arx for some time, and many were looking forward to hearing just what the man had to say when the Inquisition caught up with the man. The Crown just wanted to talk, after all. So his death at the hands of Costas Voducce, the Sword of Southport seems just a little... convenient for those wanting to have answers. Did the man have some information on House Malvici that was suppressed? Why was a vassal of the Minister of Defense trying to arrest the man in the first place? Was this some power grab to expand a very new crown position, whose responsibilities and authority are still much an open question? Why wasn't this left to the Inquisition, who explicitly deal with this sort of thing? Some think its a cover up, with some sinister reason for the man being killed, while some think its incompetence that the Inquisition wouldn't have bumbled a simple arrest like that. A few suggest that any title holder, particularly of a holding as powerful as the duchy of Southport, obviously has enough on her plate and botched arrests by one of her closest servants is reflective of trying to do too much. Others question, and not as quietly as one might expect, just what really was going on and if the duchess is power mad. Some are taking a long, hard look at the 'Ministry of Defense' that had been established by Dawn and questioning its validity.
