Grayson Free-For-All

At the training center, the champion Caspian Wild held a free-for-all match in order to showcase some of the best warriors of Arvum, well attended by many famous soldiers and some of the most renowned of the Compact. Such events are excellent for the morale, particularly as the Compact stands on the eve of war, and many look on hopefully and try to draw hope and inspiration by seeing some of the greatest fight. So when the general of House Grayson forces, Princess Reese Grayson wins, it seems unexceptionable for those sorts of affairs, right up until a voice of House Grayson publicly calls the winner, his own general, a 'spoiled brat'.
At the best of times, that would be far below the dignity of any great house, and makes peers question if someone has the discipline and maturity to lead a great house. These are not the best of times. A voice publicly feuding with their own general, for one of the five major forces expected to lead them into war is downright alarming to those who were currently debating how many forces they should commit to battle. If House Grayson is showing public signs of strain and cracking under the pressure, that is not something vassals considering their commitments ignore.
A brave public face would have been better.
