Mourning Diplomacy

Under Count Turo Navegant, the Crown dispatches a diplomatic mission to talk to shav in the Mourning Isles and see if they're willing to bend the knee. The time is a good one - what with the recent Compact victory and the attention paid to ridding the Mourning Isles of pirates, many shav react favorably.
With Countess Arcelia Navegant, Countess Titania Fireviper, and Duchess Margot Tyde with him they manage to reach many with talk of how easy and comfortable it is for them to acclimate to the Compact's ways. How the transition is not a difficult one. Each one is well familiar with the traditions of the Mourning Isles, and each one makes a credible case for joining the Compact in truth.
But it's Eshra who truly captures people's attention. Dressed in traditional Rivenshari garb, she talks honestly about her difficulties before and after joining the Compact. She talks about the sucesses and the hardships, but she talks more about the support and the friendships. How she believes that people are people, in the Compact and out. How her family thrives, and how Turo has gone from enemy to one of her closest friends. And most compelling perhaps, she tells them of the security they have found and with that the freedom to explore paths previously closed to them because of the simple acts of survival that took all their time outside the Compact.
She makes a compelling argument, and all told several thousand shav join the Compact, swearing to Navegant and Tyde. It is an exceptionally successful tour.
