Description: Dark gaze slowly drawn towards the upper corners of her eyes as she speaks, Icelyn keeps just shy of making direct eye contact in most social situations. It isn't rare, however, to catch her staring at a face while the other person is looking away! The contradictory formidability and reserved mousiness with which she carries herself are often at odds, presenting themselves at unlikely intervals. Light of foot and slender of build with a rich coffee-colored complexion, it isn't hard to imagine her roaming on ahead as the spritely lookout for a larger military party.

Personality: Icelyn remains deeply conflicted about having set aside her Godsworn oaths. Her sense of identity remains deeply rooted in her devotion to the Faith, so much so that she scarcely knows herself without it! Time spent first as a guardian of the roads and later as a Shav'arvani captive has left her with a deficiency where personal pride is concerned. In fact, Icelyn's predisposition towards service and humility is quite unbecoming for her renewed station. Along with an almost willful ignorance of the nuances of political life, this contributes to her transition back into the Peerage being an uncomfortable one. For everyone.

Background: The product of a political match between lesser Northern houses beneath House Nightgold's chain of fealty, Icelyn was a member of the Peerage prior to taking her vows. She dove headfirst into service to the Faith in her youth following a particularly bad row with her aunt and liege, whom she regarded as cruel.

Predominantly recognized now for her role as Dame Icelyn Cliffmore, Godsworn sister-at-arms of the Knights of Solace, Icelyn served as a scout for the Faith militant up until her disappearance briefly predating the Silent War. She'd been escorting a group of refugees through a mountain pass when her group was overwhelmed by Abandoned. In order to buy time enough for the others to escape, Icelyn courageously remained behind to fend their aggressors off.

Presumed dead, the Compact would not hear from her again until many years later. She was taken captive and brought back to a Shav'arvani stronghold. There, she lived as a prisoner and forced manual laborer until, during an attack by an enemy tribe, she managed to escape back into the mountains.

Heartsick, half-starved, and weary, Icelyn returned only to learn of her kin's decimation, seemingly countless threats to her homeland, and fears abound among Godsworn of Northern heresies. Eager to prop up and empower Faithful nobility and rightfully concerned with the fate of a very nearly lost noble line, Faith leadership encouraged a deeply hesitant Icelyn to be released from her vows. Bending the knee to the new Marquessa, she sought to convalesce in the bosom of House Acheron with the sparse remnants of the family she left behind long ago.

Relationship Summary

Ally:
  • Asphodel - The torch to my candle. Different, but so similar.

  • Friend:
  • Jeffeth - A friend since our squiring days, a gentle, steadfast Knight of the Road.
  • Name Summary
Behtuk The bluntness of a shav with the privilege of a noble. She is the hammer and I am rotten ice.
Bhandn When her cousin introduced her, then tagged her almost in the same breath, I caught a glimpse of myself from many years ago. I wonder how she'll treat this: as an exercise, or as a game? There most certainly is a difference.
Caspian I wouldn't say Icelyn is icey, but she does seem no nonsense
Dianara Cool-headed and confident both in her bearing and her abilities. She also laughed at my jokes, which makes her the best sort of person in my eyes.
Eleanor She seems very nice and normal. That's probably very good for Acheron, but I hope it ...works out for her.
Enri A true knight, she seems to enjoy her duties and isn't shy of getting into action. Sounds like someone I'll get along nicely.
Esme You remind me so much of a person so dear to my heart. I am sure you will become dear to my heart as well. I am excited for you to meet my cousin and excited for adventures that await us; and mark my words. They do await us.
Iliana Abundantly cautious. Not always a poor trait for a general to possess, especially when it's tempered by curiosity, encouraging one to look before they leap.
Juniper When I faltered, she was there in a blink with hand extended to help. When the lives of others were threatened, she leapt without hesitation to protect them. Her quality is clear, the depth of her dedication to the well-being of others.
Kaldur A dutiful Knight Votary of the Silver Order and fond of Bruno. Two marks very high in her favor.
Kanean She is a good shot. Not sure she is such a fan of me however.
Kenna She has a dark cloud that hangs over her, but when she smiles? It's like the world is giving me a hug.
Lucita An amicable woman, a knight and from the North. We met and talked over a variety of topics ranging from music to history to families, children and losses. I shall look forward to seeing her again and learning more of her.
Ophelia A kind lady of the Northland with a passion for archery. I can appreciate her hobby as I, too, am quite fond of it! I sense that she and I may be kindred spirits.
Petal A woman who likes to knit and is learning how, but but also hunts and knows about battle. She gave me a great idea and I look forward to working with her in the future.
Reese A woman of the North and likely of the cold climates. She is a warrior and was seem to have interesting past. I would love to know more about her. She carrie herself with grace and speak wonderfully.
Riagnon Chivarly isn't dead, it lives on in -of all places- an Acheron!
Sigurd A formidable woman who has well earned her position from what I can tell. I hope we become fast friends.
Sparte She seems fond of Dame Tom. I wonder if one day I'll see her with a stoat companion.
Sudara A strong survivor, whom I am increasingly glad to have the opportunity to know. Especially so, given her enquiring mind.
Tescelina It is a treasure to be understood. She has promised to take me to her homeland, to see the stars, share in their wonder. I look forward to seeing her smile again.
Thea A quiet but strong woman who seems to have overcome quite a bit. I think I could learn from her if I was honest.
Viviana Not a fan of wearing jewelry and apparently fond of wading through mud. I think something might be wrong here.
