Action by Raymesin

Raymesin needs to get the Army of Death home following the battle against the Horned Hahahano. To that end he's going to be organising carts and ships, raising the battlefield one small piece at a time, asking those who seem to have a semblance of intelligence whether they want to go back to the catacombs, and getting them to load themselves onto the transport provided if they do. The ones without a semblance of intelligence will be split into the recently dead, who get to lie down in neat lines ready for their comrades to bury them, burn them, or do whatever they do, and the ancient dead, who return to the catacombs.

Hopefully once they get back to Arx the Queen of Endings will sort them out, or they'll sort themselves out, but if he has to go back to the docks a few times to sort that out too, he will.

Raymesin will also be available to help stray souls through the doorway to the shining lands, or to call the soul healers if he needs to. Soul sight isn't natural for him, but he can do it, and he will be doing it. He's expecting the gargantuans at least will have left a sorry mess of souls behind, as well as the twisted Sylv'alfar; he isn't a soul healer, but he can offer his help and try to learn how it's done, then send them on when they're sorted.

It's a big job and it's going to take a while.

Action by Volcica

Volcica joins the others in gathering the dead. While Raymesin focuses on moving and sorting the bodies, Cufre helps sort them out and find them rest, and Eirene focuses on any that need healing, Volcica will focus on the incorporeal. Some might linger by their bodies, some might not have bodies any longer. She will find them, though, and she will help with whatever they need to find rest or join the Army of Death. She isn't a soul healer, but she can guide them to Eirene and support her efforts. She can relay any information she learns that the others don't have access to. She will do her best to identify any unknown or Nameless dead, by finding other dead that knew them. Even if she can't give their names back properly, it's a step.

Action by Eirene

Eirene, using her gifts of Soul Sight and Soul Mending, will help Raymesin to the best of her ability in finding the restless dead spirits. Whatever souls need help in repair she will fix, and she will direct Raymesin to the ones who need to cross back over.

Action by Cufre

Sometimes the way to work through grief is to simply...work. Cufre, disconsolate after the battle against Orichalcum, spends maybe too many hours of her time in conversation with the individuals who form the Army of the Dead, trying her best to guide them to their rest, should they prefer, or their return to the catacombs in continued service, if that's their preference.

As for helping with the stray souls, that's left to others. If Cufre happens to see a someone in conversation with or hands extended to (presumably) someone unseen, she's quick to tears and to choose somewhere else to be.

Result

It is an awful lot of work to sort the dead and their lingering issues, but they did do it. Overwhelmingly of course, most turn to the wheel and finally get some long needed rest after their closure, before they start their next life. A few linger on, though. There's at least a half dozen dead that thought they've made their peace have decided to stick around. Mostly because they figure if they can help out against Azazel before being killed again, why not?
