Titles: Knight of Thrax, Knight Grandmaster of the Order of East Light

Description: Light brown hair has been hacked short and tufts up by her ears and at the nap of her neck, hinting that her locks might have a bit of a curl to them when longer. In the summer months, her tresses become sun-kissed and a smattering of pale freckles appear across her nose. Despite her boyish haircut, she is unable to hide the femininity of her features: wide, clear green eyes fringed with dark lashes, soft lips and cheeks which still have the adorable roundness of youth. Her heart-shaped face is anchored by a determined little chin and, more often than not, there is a smudge of dirt somewhere upon her fair complexion. While her body is lightly curved, there is strength there too and one would be foolish to underestimate her just because of the pretty package she comes in.

Personality: Put a sword in Cora's hand and she is confident, comfortable, and joyful -- just one of the guys! She is doggedly determined: when she sets her sights on something, there is little that can stop her. Unwaveringly loyal once her trust has been earned, she is a steadfast and true friend. She's brave without being unnecessarily reckless, doesn't seek glory for glory's sake and would never leave a man behind. And despite her rejection of Thrax's views on proper female life, Cora is actually very Thraxian: a sailor and a warrior, somber in a face of battle, proud of her Thraxian heritage and abilities on the battlefield -- be them land or sea. Around the men of Thrax, she might take extra pains to prove her worth; she will never complain, never give up, never back down. Take the sword away though? Aaaaaawkward. She does enjoy the occasional party but she's definitely out of her element there. Cora certainly tries her best but those kind of occasions have her treading water just to keep her head above the surface in the deep end. She finds the politics of social maneuvering to be utterly confusing and cannot make small talk to save her life. Cora is perpetually overly honest in those scenarios, and has embarrassed herself in the courtly social scene more than once.

Background: The third of four daughters, Cora always felt out of place. A tomboy through and through, she did not quite fit in with either side if her family, no matter how much she loved them: she couldn't quite relate to her father's bookish Leary relatives and she most certainly did not conform to the feminine ideals expected of her from her Thrax family on her mother's side. Her parents wanted her to become a proper princess and pursue subjects that were deemed acceptable (diplomacy! law! academics!) but Cora wanted to learn how to fight. She didn't understand why her male cousins were allowed to train and she wasn't -- especially when she was often better than they were.

Like all the Thrax-Leary girls, she spent every summer in Leaholdt with her Leary relatives. While her sister, Caith, was given to reading and got along well with all their intellectual cousins, Cora spent her time hanging out with those who were more combat oriented. Increasingly, these summers spent with her more egalitarian relations would result in her returning to Maelstrom in the fall asking: why? Why couldn't she learn to fight? Why couldn't she be a soldier? Why couldn't she be a leader? Why? Why? WHY? The harder her Thrax family tried to shove her, a square peg, into a round hole, the more she resisted.

When Donella was named heir (before she married out, that is), she viewed that as a hopeful sign that times were changing. She idolizes Leona, how she saved the King and became the Lord Commander of the King's Own (although Cora wants to be able to achieve that kind of greatness within Thrax). She dreams of rising up through the ranks and becoming the Thrax Warlord someday. However, her mother (while she was still alive) and most of her sisters (ESPECIALLY Cassima) continually tried to push her down more traditional avenues. Caith was the more moderate exception; while she never quite full-on encouraged her aspirations, she would often fill her head with ideas by reading her stories of heroic female knights and adventurers. It was frustrating because Cora really loved -- and felt a connection to -- Thrax but never could find her place in it. Maybe she could marry out, chase her dreams in another house? But she did not want to be in another house. She is a Thrax. She wants to STAY Thrax. If only there was a way...

Well. Now Coraline is in Arx. How did she get here? That is an interesting story. See, she just couldn't stand being in a cage any longer and decided to take control of her own destiny. One of the benefits of being far removed from the line of succession is that no one pays too close attention to what you do. One night, she slipped her guards, lopped off her hair, stole some armor and a blade and snuck off to war. For the first time in her life, she felt comfortable. She felt like she fit in. She felt like the person she was meant to be: a warrior who was standing side by side with her fellow Thrax soldiers, fighting off the Gyre's forces. Did anyone realize at the time that the young male soldier was in fact one of their princesses? No, of course not.

When it was all over, she returned with the troops: bloody but unbowed. She decided that she was going to be the change she wanted to see and, with that in mind, she returned to the Thrax estate in Arx to face the music ... with her head held high.

Name Summary
Adora Some kind of warrior princess. She's going to die horribly in battle somewhere probably. I don't like her.
Aethan Interested in Magnata, and fights well. Hope to meet her in the ring.
Agatha I have to think she must be an impressive young Princess to gain Jeffeth's trust in making her a squire. I'm really looking forward to getting to know her. If she's the one that ran away to fight, I think we could be really good friends!
Alarissa Oe of my cousins by marriage, and by far one of my more favourites. She swings a sword very beautifully and I can't shake perhaps being the faintest bit envious of that.
Aleksei Bright and impetuous. Gotta just hope she doesn't get herself killed with all those heroics!
Alessandro A very pleasant companion, who can keep up with Lady Monique in her drinking, which is quite impressive in and of itself.
Alessia She's a pleasant drinking companion and she sounds to be a lot of fun. Hopefully we have the chance to interact again.
Alexandre I met Her Highness when she came in to test herself against the Gauntlet. Though at first afraid to pass off for a fool, I am glad she was inspired to attempt the challenge anyway, and proved that despite her fears, she had little to envy even the best warriors.
Alexio Another Princess of Thrax. She seems quite the interesting person, and I am interested to see what I can learn more of her.
Alexis Princess Coraline Thrax, Knight to Be and Bride to Be and apparently mermaid too? She has a polished and elegant way of handling herself, and I'm sure she's the envy of many. Even if she says she's the least Princess-y Princess.
Amantha Cool under pressure and with an air of authority. And not too uptight, considering.
Anton A very busy Princess. Order of knights, hunting rabid animals, talking to many people at once. Certainly charming, but just watching all of that energy makes me sleepy. Maybe she can lend me some. I hope she doesn't drag me onto a sewer adventure.
Arcelia As always, Coraline is wonderful company in my home. Turo is more than wise to make friends with the Princess, she is quite the woman.
Ariella Knightly princess of the Isles and a perfect picture of cold fury.
Arthen Second time I've seen this woman, and I like her more and more. She's a fair hand with a sword, I can tell you that much, but it doesn't stop her from havin' a good sense of humor. I like a person who can laugh, even while things are goin' to heck. Good woman, seems like. I'd fight with her again. She held her own real well.
Astraea She's beautiful, kind of has this really original swag to her and she's an example for an entire generation of Thraxian girls. Barric's a lucky guy.
Auda A princess, who hired me within hours of meeting me. Amazing!
Berenice Bright and energetic -- and knightly? Not at all what one expects from a Thraxian princess! Brava.
Bliss The Princess Thrax is certainly an enthusiastic and lively one, and has always proven to be only the most excellent of company - and quite adventurous, at that. She encourages the best sides of me, and I think we all need people like that in our lives.
Brigida Trailblazer. Let us hope she doesn't burn out.
Caith Baby sister #1! I love you! I am so happy you are here! BUT WHAT DID YOU DO?! And oh my god, your hair...
Carita Taking bets on when Princess Sorrel will sing, and having that notion actually come to fruition is a delectable little window in to the clever humor of this Princess. That she's not just beauty but also very, very capable.
Caspian I've never had someone throw someone else's panties at me before. Is this a new sign of affection of Thraxian women? Can someone tell me?
Catriona She has changed so much since I last saw her! And she still loves the fighting. I am resigned ...
Cybele Cora of the Thrax, a Furyborn Princess. She is many things to many people. To me, I think, she will be friend.
Delilah With a quill between her teeth, a stack of pages, and a spark of fire in her eyes, Princess Coraline knows how to make an entrance. She is in every way vibrant, drawing you in to the vivacious activity storming around her. A like minded soul, I think, though woe to any miscreant facing her on the field.
Dominique She seems rather chipper to learn fighting skills. I hope that the rest of her fealty and familar are okay with this though. I do wonder what Sir Jeffeth said to make her wary and scowl. That concerns me.
Domonico A Princess of Thrax. Seems to be rather embarassed by the presence of naked people. I can't see why.
Donato A daugher of the sea alright, princess of Thrax who knows her way around a ship and a bottle of rum. Just as it should be.
Echo I've never gotten close to a Thrax princess, but Coraline has easily proven to be such a staunch ally and a wonderful friend. We're kindred spirits, her and I, and she's gotten so close, so fast.
Edelma A warrior woman from Thrax! Bit of a novelty. She drinks hard when she wants and she's not a bad fighter either.
Elgana One of the best people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. There's a fierce energy to Coraline but also a deep kindness and desire to be the best she can be, do the best for others. I am delighted and honored to call her my 'little sister'.
Emmelline She is such a lovely woman. I do so love working with her. i wonder if she and I could forge a friendship, though she is a princess, and a much higher station than I am.
Enoch A Thraxian Princess with whom I've met on multiple occasions by now. A kind woman, and one of exceeding positivity. I'd be happy to spend more time with her.
Etienne Capable and confident, eager to learn, discover and succeed. merits well earned.
Eurion I only met her quite briefly, but find myself impressed and awed immediately.
Evonleigh Clever and friendly -- all in all, a good teammate for an evening of riddles and mazes. Well met!
Fairen My dearest, most loving cousin. Such a fighters spirit in her.
Faruq A knight, and a Guildmaster. She is the smallest knight I have ever seen. I am sure she is honorable and forthright and all that. I hope she is /more/ than that though. Knights are so /boring/.
Faye A smart woman, but a little shy. She's more clever than she gives herself credit for. I certainly appreciate her ideas.
Fecundo I am wondering if it was the leeches or the freckles....definitely the freckles.
Fiora A cautionary tale about too many hits to the head.
Gareth Another younger sister of Cassima. The difference between Cassima and her sisters seems to be a wide chasm indeed. She seems young, unfamiliar with customs and etiquette with all the brazen energy of a newly minted soldier off to war.
Harper I've fought alongside Princess Cora. She's a good fighter and I'm real glad I got to know her through the Solace. She's one of the good ones that's earned my respect.
Helena I love this Thrax Princess. She is strong and impish and she is the most curious and amazing mix of both Elgana and Agatha. She's almost like another sister. We should adopt her.
Helia It could have been hard to warm to the the princess given the shared histories of our families, but she's a thoughtful and friendly soul and I find myself liking her. Apparently a formidable warrior too. I look forward to sparring with her.
Ian What in the abyss did Dame Leona think I was going to be able to say to her?
Iliana She's going to be a star one day, I can see it in the way she carries herself. She seems a bit withdrawn about some things, but aren't we all?
Ingvar Quick to insult when those she insults have no means of recourse, and an attitude that runs in the face of our traditions and ways of life. She's no doubt a capable warrior, but she doesn't seem a pleasant woman to be about.
Iseulet As all Thraxian Princesses should not be, she's adept on the sea and with a blade! Scandalous! I love it. I adore her - and look forward to running into her again soon.
Jacali Another of them physician sorts, ey? Off she popped, right on to help with whatever screamin' were fillin' the alleys this time. Wonder if it were bravery or curiosity, I do.
Jacque A Princess of Thrax is probably quite charming, but it is hard to tell when she's knocking you senseless with a practice sword. Perhaps next time I get to talk to her I'll get a better sense of her other than a force of destruction.
Jan Reminds me of me when I was younger. All eager for derring-do, swordplay, and not having to do your hair every morning.
Jasher As a Thraxian, I should pity her for taking upon a role women don't normally take. But as Thrax's first knight in a long time and the head of the Order of East Light, she is a symbol of progress. I am intrigued to see where her path leads her.
Jeffeth Caith and Cassima's little sister! She's a fighter! I'm excited to swing some blades with her.
Jophiel When I first met her, I was reminded of the stories of the Princess that could rescue herself. But what can you do but fall when that same Princess has swept the Lord off of his feet and claimed him as hers?
Jordan Shy Princess. It is an endearing trait, and so seldom seen among the more social people of Arx. Perhaps we'll speak for longer, soon.
Josephine Such a lovely woman, eager and excited. She will go far I am sure.
Jyri Warrior Princess - asked if I was interested in joining the Order of East Light. I'm not.
Katarina She's absolutely darling.
Kenna Bright and curious, she's a woman after my own heart. There's nothing not worth learning!
Klaus A Princess and woman who did not slap me for my blunt humor. I like her!
Leola As long as she is allowed to decide her path, I've little doubt it will be the right one. She has that vibrancy to her which assures it.
Lilith A good example to young Mourning Isles girls, I think. I didn't ever dream of becoming a knight as a girl because it didn't seem possible. Not sure it would have been something I was interested in were it so, but it is nice to see how things are beginning to change. Cora seems like a nice girl. We're distantly related maybe so we should get to know each other sometime. I'd love to hear stories about her adventures.
Lorenzo A charming princess, if rather easily embarrassed. She seems kind and plesant, though, and I would enjoy speaking with her further.
Luca I don't know the woman well, but I do know she seems to have a good head on her shoulders, and a decent arm for the swinging of swords. I've never had the chance to spar with her and see what she's made of, yet, which is a shame, but I've heard she's really quite good. That she's stealing Barric from the family is, I suppose /forgivable/, if only because she's adorable.
Lucilia Lovely noble. Kind. Didn't shoo me away, for starts.
Lucita Interested in Mangata, well spoken, polite, likes a drink as well as any of us do and is interested in a spar after I recover from having a baby, looks like this could grow into more regular contacts!
Lys Princess Coraline Thrax has a spirit of mischief to her, I just know it! We had fun sparring match back when she first came to Arx, and I hope to get to spar with her again. With or without the licking.
Marian Looking at her makes me think of what my twins will look like when they are grown. Such a delight to talk to...both of them. I shall have to get to know them both so I can determine which one I am talking to over time.
Melody Far too sweet for her own good. Really, it's going to be a sad sight when someone takes advantage of it. I'm sure she'd catch on soon enough and crack their skull with that longsword of hers.
Meriah She's stubborn, thick skulled, and annoying and doesn't listen to anyone when she's made up her mind. Girl after my own heart.
Mirk A competent medic to have on hand, for all her protests about being trained in battlefield medicine. One I'm glad to have on hand.
Monique This woman is a wonderful woman. She is strong and brave (she'd have to be, to befriend me) and also understanding and passionate.
Niklas Thrax princess. A pleasant and genial woman. I hope her all the best with Prince Barric.
Norwood She is a perfectly pleasant woman, and an easy conver... SHE IS INSANE.
Oriana I met a number of capable people today in the Lowers. Princess Coraline was a welcome presence in a questionable situation.
Orvyn A Princess of Thrax and soon to be closer bound to a dear friend. She is polite, with a sense of humour and readily able to engage in conversation, and a knight no less. Clearly she is an entire set of facets, and as such likely someone to know better.
Oswyn Quick on her feet.
Perronne Much less aggressive and haughty than I guess I expected from Thrax. Nice, even! A woman, a Thrax princess, and a warrior. That's weird. Not bad. But weird.
Petal She seems to be very interested in helping out other people and is not very princessy in the good way.
Prisila A heroine and a princess. They rarely go hand in hand but apparently they do here. She's quite stunning too.
Quenia A lovely Princess of House Thrax. A bit shy, and looks to love books every bit as much as Alarissa does. I hope to get to talk to her again sometime.
Reese She seems friendly, eager, pleasant and has an energy about her that will take her far.
Rey The Princess is a force of nature and skills. Combat, Healer and I hope to call her friend.
Rosalie My absolute favorite Princess that I've met. She's down to earth, knows how to have fun, and is just the most laidback person I think I've ever met. I enjoy every moment I'm in her company.
Rowenova I first met Princess Coraline during a stressful situation. Ever since then, though, our every meeting has been quite nice. Whenever I come around, this Thraxian princess always treats me with nonstop kindness, even rebandaging my arrow wounds, too, along with always greeting me despite my common status! Highly recommended as good company!
Ryhalt An interesting woman in some respects. Perhaps something interesting in the future.
Sabella So very unlike her sisters, but I will always cheer on a champion princess! I should introduce her to Reese!
Sabella Despite her young age, Princess Coraline is exceptionally wise, very observant, and from what I've seen absolutely, all around delightful! I greatly enjoy her company as she seems to be just as energetic as I am! I would have thought she might make a better friend for Reese, but I am definitely glad to count her as one of my close friends!
Saoirse Warned about Stumphrey. Duty done.
Selene It seems we each have something to envy in the other, for this shy Princess travels the seas like open fields. What a lovely thing.
Selene A princess of Thrax who is quick to smile and converse. She indicated that she is terrible at etiquette and diplomacy, though she didn't seem so terrible as all that.
Sheena Thrax Princess. She is a Thrax princess so that means behavior should be modeled after her, right?
Simone A lovely princess, but there is a thread of something stronger to her. I quite enjoyed meeting her and look forward to getting to know her better in the future.
Sorrel Enthusiastic and cheerful, this Thrax princess is quite progressive. She is driven and motivated and ambitious, and I feel glad to call her a friend.
Sparte The responsible of the twin Princesses. She is very inquisitive and has a lot of warmth. I look forward to further interactions with her.
Theo A warrior. Perhaps she can teach me a thing or two?
Theodoric An excellent fighter, dedicated and handy in battle, would slay giant rats with again.
Tomwell Baby cousin isn't such a baby anymore! She's all grown up and hitting things with real swords instead of sticks we found in the woods. The nickname my stick, though.
Tynan Princess Coraline is a good conversationalist and a charming presence, with both insight and good humor. She also shares her drinks, which makes me appreciate her all the more.
Valarian What's this with pretty Princesses beating the Abyss out of people? I mean, she got greased, but she looked good doing it, and I'm sure she'd thrash me into the dirt.
Vanora She's lovely and charming and warm. Hers is an inspiring presence that makes others believe in their own dreams just from watching how she goes after hers. I hope we'll find cause to work together.
Veronica Sir Bayweather's squire, and a princess: a very interesting setup. Judging from her performance and attitude at the training grounds, she has potential to become a great knight one day.
Zara A hostess that I would be proud to stand beside at any event. I look forward to learning more of her and hopefully meeting again in the near future.
