Description: Slightly past her young adulthood, Tyrene remains a solid woman, lovely in her way, but a little too rough around the edges to be anything remotely elegant. Her dark ashy auburn hair, kept in thick, short curls, often sports a scarf around it to hold it back. She wears too much makeup for the most part, her deep blue eyes ringed with smoky black shadow and liner, intense, even if their brightness is masked. Her face is slender, serious, and her lips often seem pursed in consternation, accentuated by the dark lipstick she wears. Her figure, slender with slight curves, often simply remains hidden behind simple, practical clothing. She always seems neat, however, despite her rough work in the tavern.

Personality: Tyrene is utterly no-nonsense. She doesn't brook any shenanigans in her tavern. She has seen too many bar fights turn deadly, when the Boroughs should be a place of refuge. She's a touch idealistic, but will definitely knock heads around if people are screwing with her sense of order. She's utterly and completely loyal to the common people. She enforces the peace, because they have enough problems keeping the nobles from destroying them with their games, to let them destroy each other. She doesn't precisely -hate- the nobility, but they are just trouble. She'll be respectful and work with them, but she'll never turn on her commoners. All commoners are her commoners. It's that force of personality and loyalty that even make it possible for the Boroughs Accords to happen.

Background:     Boroughs born comes with some benefits, and of course, the typical drawbacks. Tyrene knows the streets and the needs of the people. Her mother was something of a whore, though her official vocation was as a laundress and occasional tavern wench. She died when Tyrene was still young, and she remembers her mother as a vibrant spirit, who did not stand for disrespect. Her mother was murdered by the Iron Guard for some slight, Tyrene never understood it, learning to hate, at least in secret, the ways of the Court. A man named Jakob raised her. He might have been an uncle, or someone her mother married at some point. He treated her roughly, but never to the point of cruelty. It was simply a hard life. He eventually went to work for one of the taverns, and brought Tyrene to be a maid there. She learned the trade, and excelled, as a wench, as the bartender, and eventually at running the books and keeping the peace in the establishment. She took over the Unkindness and made it her own, well known to the locals and strives to keep them fed, clothed, and safe.

She sees the chaos that can come with the shifting political moods. After all, no wave breaks on the walls of the Compact. It always trickles down to the commons. Eventually, the gangs turn on one another and the Inquisition takes people off the street, the Iron Guard beating people for being poor, or whatever. Tyrene has seen most of it at one point or another. She has also seen the need for someone to be a neutral party. Someone to provide a place of neutral territory, where negotiation can happen without bloodshed. Tyrene runs the Unkindness and, through payment to the various guilds and gangs, and her own reputation, she has deemed it Accorded Neutral Territory. No one may shed blood in her bar, and fights will be dealt with harshly. She doesn't take sides, plays mediator when she needs to, and generally makes snarky, sarcastic comments to anyone.
