Comments and Log

Within the depths of the Shrine to the Thirteenth, the Silent Servants stand around the edge of the walls where the altar is at. At the side of the altar is one figure like many others here, draped in black robes and gloves covering the hands; the only thing to show uniqueness is the vortex of darkness that the Dark Mirrormask wears, the gold eyes behind it watching those gathering. The figure lifts a gloved hand up, beckoning the other masked figures to enter.

It would seem gold eyes are rather more common among the Mirrormasks than the norm, for another masked figure arrives with likewise gilded eyes. However, beyond their colour, it is their nature that marks them. Eyes of a wolf, feral with an indecipherable gaze. The rest of his face is covered by a mask that unites iridescite and stygian, the mirrored surfaces causing the illusion of movement upon the mask with the slightest tilt of the man's head, and creates scenes of war as soon as he moves through the rows. The back of his head is covered by a piece of black silk, while his body is clad in umbra with the occasional bits of aeterna to provide contrast. A living representation of the Duality. "Reflection." the man greets the Dark Mirrormask, his voice a baritone easily heard, despite its low tone.

In a featureless mask revealing only the dark jades of the eyes behind it, the mirroed surface is smooth and warps the reflections of all that look within it. Dressed in a shroud, little of their features are visible, only their short stature and small frame are immediately apparent. They are just behind the other, when they dip into a bow, speaking in a distinctly feminine voice. "Reflection," she echoes.

The Dark gives a bow of its head to Stygian and Silver while it puts a gloved hand over where perhaps its heart is at over the robes before the hands are brought upwards. The voice that comes from behind the mask is very smooth and low, marked control which gives not much fluctuation in the tone, "We enter this evening under the cover of darkness yet within the shadows we seek to further our understandings and increase our awareness, furthering the confines of what we perceive the world to be. May each of Tehom's disciples gain understanding by observing and the strength to show wisdom by choosing when act. May He help us overcome the darkness which is in all things, and find solace within the Reflection of truth. May He give his wisdom to those who seek the truth, and the strength to accept the truth as it is given."
tDark lowers the hands and gives a gesture to the Silents to have a few go towards the doorway so they all won't be bothered much. "Thank you for coming this evening. The movements of the heavenly bodies above mark a time that is the Thirteenth's feast day is coming, that the Eclipse of Mirrors will be here for all in a few weeks. We, as humanity, have encountered great challenges the past years since the previous Eclipse and I think personally that it gives us all much to think about our actions. This feast day, I would like to see more engagement and activity publicly from us, His disciples, and those who shirk from Him due to strongly held beliefs. But? I'd like to hear what you two would like to say first, if there are any issues or questions I might be able to try clarifying as the Third Reflection of him."

"In terms of issues or questions, I have none. Those that arose from the previous messages from the Archlector have been put to rest. As to what I would like to say..." The Mirrormask shrugs."I intend to be present for the Velenosa-held festival, as a Mirrormask rather than as nobleman." notes the Duality, Stygian and Iridescite. "I may be called upon elsewhere, during the Eclipse. But I am not at a liberty to say where, when and how, not while it still remains unofficial." He otherwise says little else, waiting instead for the Silver Reflection to speak their piece.

Silver considers the other, the third reflection. The mask giving nothing away to what she may be thinking or feeling, she decides to speak up with a question that is perhaps a touch unrelated to the festival day at hand. "Perhaps you might be able to shed light onto what was expected of us regarding the Pravus? There seems to have been some degree of miscommunication, and it led to the First Reflection to take some time off for himself," she considers Stygian and nods. "Of course, the matter has been laid to rest, though I admit to curiosity, but if it's not the purpose of this meeting," she pauses. "I will do my best to maintain a presence at the events, though I have other matters that may keep me away, it's an unfortunate part of the many duties that I share alongside my devotion to Tehom."

Dark listens to Stygian, nodding in agreement. "Good, very good. Perhaps it is wise to reflect on what the Legate has instructed and use the matter of our Archlector as a learning experience." he says, the smooth monotone being spoken quietly. He takes one of the silver thuribles, swaying it slowly as the chain is dropped so that the incense lifts and swirls about the black altar. "All actions have consequences and a payment, we must always look to use our abilities and powers for the betterment of all versus our selfish dark desires. When correction is offered, we set aside our mortal reaction and egos to accept the correction so we might grow. A closed mind and closed heart is one that can be corrupted far too easily and lose itself in its passions, so our Archlector teaches us by his momentary time away to dwell on his actions and become a better person for it. Hubris and pride will lead always to downfall, my fellow Reflections, and we as Mirrormasks work to further always the teachings of Tehom which are for all people, not just focusing on some. We gather in shadows and darkness to contemplate on our duality, we all should feel that between us all, we are here to spread the words of Tehom rather than political or other dealings." There's a bit of silence as he moves around the altar, the incense now ringed about it before he sets the instrument back on it and takes his place near the side again. "The Mirror's Masquerade will of course be filled with symbolism of the Thirteenth, and many will look towards us to provide guidance in an area that can often be twisted by those with...ulterior motives, and corrupt the teachings of Tehom. I'm not suggesting we have bake sales or spooky costume contests, I do suggest we look to focusing on one main teaching to emphasize when we speak, something easily understood and accepted while at the same time difficult to refute with twisted words."

Someone wearing a Mirrormask of swirling stygian and iridescite nods as he listens, not speaking up until the very end of the Dark Mirrormask's words. "Perhaps we can each promote an aspect we find paramount, one we feel and think strongly of. I won't surprise anyone by stating that my own contribution would be on the subject of Duality. Something essential to the Faith, but not necessarily understood by most. If they understand that the worship of Tehom is not the worship of some Demon King, as the Orthodox would believe, but instead a matter of balance... If explained in such a way, I've found few who would refute the principle. But, that is what I intend."

Someone wearing A Featureless Silver Facade nods to Stygian and Dark both, considering them with a simple nod, only really speaking up to say. "I think you both make a lot of great points. We should find some way to educate people as to what duality means, or at least just a single aspect of it. As I'm from the Lyceum, this all comes rather naturally to me, but my new home in the Crownslands has introduced me to far less understanding people."

Someone wearing A Dark Reflection Mirrormask listens and the robed figure nods again, "Those are words that have merit, Reflection." towards Stygian and to Silver. "Duality is one of the core components of our faith and worship to the Thirteenth. Duality isn't the sole concept of Him, it is shared by many of the Pantheon and even our fellow mortals who focus their beliefs in shamanism. Very well, for this Eclipse we will focus on the concept of duality. For myself, I will hold an event in the Nightingale Park down in the Lower Boroughs as that is a place which has tremendous hardship and many there are more easily persuaded to follow their passions as they feel lost and neglected, giving the event an opportunity to help educate and persuade them that there are other options available whenever they're presented a choice in life. There is also an opportunity to have an anonymous artist showcase on the nature of duality, although...I'm not entirely sure it should be held here. Perhaps" he offers, "In one of the art galleries within the city instead? The goal is to attract more people to be comfortable expanding their knowledge on truth rather than creating a problem for the Iron Guard to deal with."

The Stygian Mirormask nods. "I would suggest the art gallery, for the exposition." And then he tilts his head, the Light and Dark of his face swirling in a new phase of their war. "An anonymous artist painting on the nature of duality. It rings a bell." But he doesn't comment further on the matter. "I may hold an event of my own, time permitting. However, I suspect my part will be minor for this year's Eclipse." No excuses are given. Simple truth.

Someone wearing A Dark Reflection Mirrormask says, "No part is ever minor, every grain of sand is needed in the hourglass for it to function properly...I'm sure there are reasons that need no explanation, Reflection, you've always been seeking to lift up His teachings. I'll seek you out then to work with me on the art exposition...we aren't using our names for these events, we are faceless...reflections to the truth people seek out."

"I've no idea what I wish to really do for the eclipse, as I said my responsibilities are spread rather thin, but I would be delighted to do my part and to really devote myself to the teachings," Silver speaks out then, arms crossed casually as she considers him. "I'm no artist, but perhaps I could find a way to assist you both with that task."

Someone wearing a Mirrormask of swirling stygian and iridescite inclines his head. "Good. Then I look forward to working with you, Reflection." he answers to the Dark. The mention of remaining nameless is met with a slight nod of approval. Silver's own proposal is likewise met with a nod, though he lets Dark speak up, should he have any ideas.

Someone wearing A Dark Reflection Mirrormask is silent for a moment, listening to them speak and then not rushing to respond. "I think we are blessed having disciples who are so willing to assist and not focus on notoriety for themselves, especially when one often is thought of as a zealot when they offer themselves to be disciples of their chosen god." He again lets silence fill the room before he speaks again, "I will then act via each of you individually assisting and set up the events. If you have any ideas in the meantime, seek me out. And if there are any issues or questions, we are here to help one another....seek your fellow Reflections so you might be given truth in the answer...and should they be busy, you have but to message me and I'll meet with you privately when I'm not on my priestly duties. I do keep you all in prayers and thoughts, and I encourage you to sharpen one another's faith."

"Of course. I shall await word, or send it should the inspiration strike. Until then, be complete in the Reflection, and may the Gods guard you." Stygian inclines his head in farewell, before taking his leave.
