A last will and testament that might be found filed with the Faith from Talia Baseborn:

To the Crafters Guild, I leave the wealth of my materials, not to include the alaricite, to be woven into new works of art. For inspiration and history, I as well leave the simple jewelry casket of gold which contains my collection of works by Guildmaster Joscelin Arterius.

To the Faith and Dominus Aureth, I leave all my coin for all of their good works.

To the Red Lady, the Queen of Aetheris, Ruby: if I do not get a chance to use the boons that are owed, the payment that you are indebted for the dress that you bought, then I request, if you will still honor them, that you will give one boon first, to my lovely, incomparable patron, Princess Berenice Velenosa. I wish for the second boon that you bestow it on Princess Zara Valardin and the third on Princess Sabella Grayson, for their support of the same work that you bought.

Last but foremost, the only person in my life that has been fully my own, fully my dream, fully my friend—Evaristo Arterius. I leave the alaricite in my supplies, so that he may craft himself some protection or weapon, and think of me, so that he might continue to fight for a better world. I also leave him the steelsilk gown known as A Visit From Inspiration, so that he may always seek her, and anything else amongst my possession that he might wish to keep.

Everything else should be given to the Faith to distribute amongst those who have need of it.

Commoners have limited ways to express their displeasure with nobility. While I appreciate your sentiment, Grandmaster, but until someone from Pravus proves me wrong and publishes even a word of censure against Arianna Pravus, I will continue to use the one tool available to me, the ability to control who comes and buys from my shop, to seek to ensure values that I hold are at least held by my customers. And that my customers aren't supporting someone who would spit on commoners or the recently dead, for a laugh.

Relationship Note on Arianna

Arianna Pravus is an asshole. This is a noble that would spit on a commoner, a sister of the Faith, after her death? I want nothing to do with her. All Pravus will be banned from Elegant Impressions, on the basis of such a spiteful human being that they have in their House.

Relationship Note on Caspian

"Buying thrall debt" is written right, I believe, since you are taking a fee on money donated at your own event just to ensure that the money is received appreciatively. That seems weirdly opportunistic to me, from someone who claims he is doing this for charity.

That said, if anyone does wish to ensure their money is received appreciatively, from Messere Wild's charity event, I will praise your donation in your name for no fee at all.

Myrinda has said that Prince Edain was the worst of her customers to ever dress, and that she remembers that he foisted an unwanted commission on her for a completely different person, just so she could make sure he didn't humiliate himself at the Assembly.

And that there is no one like her.

Which, I think, is very true.

Relationship Note on Joscelin

That is most certainly not what happened; if you knew--

I do not write half of what my friend wants me to say in journals. Most of it, really. But I swear, she gets madder and madder at me every day when I don't do what she wants. If I thought she were capable of violence--.

Oh, maybe I should have entered this in the black. I'm sorry, scholars. The rest will need to go there.

Sometimes, I can't help but wonder around the city in awe. Then, of course, my friend calls me a silly twit. She's been here forever; she has ceased to see it as special. She would rather get to work, rather than waste the time with me, exploring the city.

But Arx is so big, and different, and overwhelming. How can I concentrate solely on work?

Someone wishes me to write that charity is not just a thing that you do. You either are of a charitable nature or you are not. And if you are not, you can embrace it or you can rail against it, but the latter proves the nature very well.

She also says that she's not, uhm, surprised that the nobles of the city haven't learned. And that we'd all be better off without the noble airs that are put on.

I'm sorry. I shouldn't have written those words, but she wouldn't stop. Just, I'm sorry.

Please note that the scholars may take some time preparing your journal for others to read.
