A brief encounter with Legate Bianca Wyrmguard and her young protégé, Verity Locke, has had me thinking of late. Startling, I know, but it does happen on occasion. Perhaps we should pay a call on the Legate soon, Cadenza and I.
There's much I would like to know more about, which a scholar of her eminence might be able to illuminate.
There are these -- dreams, as well. Those, at the least, are not new to us, though the content of them does change.

To be back among the noise and stimulus of Arx has its ups and downs. Quiet has a way of helping one keep a mental peace, but at the same time certain thoughts come far too readily to an empty mind.

My dearest wife's cousin. She really impressed me the other day. I knew she was a woman of good character, but I do not believe I fully understand to what depth. I likely still don't, but she impressed me. I do not say that about others very often.

More and more Fidantes come to Arx. While it is an unexpected influx, I can't say I am disappointed to have so many of my family close by of late. It makes the villa feel at home even though Tor is so very far away.

Relationship Note on Lucita
One of the first friends I made when I came to Arx and she remains to be a close friend to this day. She has welcomed Cadenza's and my child with a gift fitting from her. I am not sure she is aware of how much it truly means to me.

The Duchess hosted a nice get together. It is a shame it was disrupted in the manner it was. It is good that we have so many close allies and their quick responses ensured no one was injured... Well at least not anyone that was friendly to our House, I don't envy the offenders.

All my brothers are here in Arx now. That was not something I was expected, but I do enjoy that fact greatly. Now only if my sister Esme was here, it would be a family reunion.

And with the announcement made, it does bring joy to me that it is known that I do not have one lovely rose, but two. The shining beacon in my life has only grown brighter and has spread. My daughter shall bring great things for I know this as a fact.

It has been for an extended period of time I have spent outside of Arx, remaining in Tor to attend to House affairs. While I already miss Tor, there is something special about Arx that I can not deny. Many cultures collide in this city under the banner of unity. While things are not always united as we like to say it is. Regardless, this is the city that changed my life so many times over. Only if it wasn't so cold....

Wonderful Reunions (Week 19)
I have been making a lot of progress in my planning and work. It seems like an endless task and it keeps me very busy. However, a wonderful reprieve as my wife has returned from Tor. I do believe I will need to take a few days off.

The trip home (Week 18)
I have spent a good deal of time heading back home recently and visiting my home among other things. I have been also working on ensuring the security issues behind a certain trade route through Torean territory is finalized as well. Everything should be in order when the time comes.

The heavy weight of Duty (Week 17)
While I have been making good progress on the defensive measures I have been working on, I find that my duties take me away from my wife more than I like. I believe I might be getting ahead of things and I should see to correct this. After all, she means everything to me, she should at least feel that way.

Glancing over the several white entries. I keep encountering the grim reminder that winter is on its way. I almost felt like I was going to freeze to death last winter. Lets hope the time in Arx has helped me adjust to this winter better than I handled last one coming straight from Tor.

Is the Quill Mightier? (Week 16)
I find that as time goes on, I find my time becomes more and more behind a desk. I have started writing a book, but on that same note, many of my duties these days fall in line of making sure the Torean military remains in fighting shape. I guess I am not used to this yet.

Where the Hawk flies (Week 15)
While I would like to say things are slowing down for me, it always seems like there are more duties to be had all the time. We are preparing to head back to the my home, but my mind remains on my wife. She has accomplished so much in a small amount of time and I am very proud of her. I feel like she will make a real difference for Lyceum.

Fire and Ash (Week 14)
Sometimes I feel totally engulfed. I have to remember to stay in the here and now and not just no where. I need to work on staying on task and getting what I need done for my home and my people. We have always been a defender of Lyceum and I intend on ensuring we remain being one.

Relationship Note on Khanne
Once again I find wisdom in the words of Shaman Khanne. Every oath should only be entered with strong consideration and caution. No oath should be broken lightly (and only in the gravest situtations), for one's word is something they only truly hold power over. Being a knight, I know a person's word is a reflection upon their honor and a knight with no honor is no knight at all.
However, being also Lycene, I know that not every vow and oath is for everyone. A fidelity vow for some is torture and they require multiple lovers. While this is not the path I desire, I am happy with my fidelity to my wife, I do understand some do not feel the way I do about it. That is alright.
My point is, one should not enter vows and take oaths they know they can not keep. If you do not know if you can or can not keep the vows you wish to take, self reflection is something that you should dive into. It is something to understand the truths of yourself before you can enter any use arrangement. If you know you can not keep your vows, enter vows that are in line with something that you can honor, at least in that regard, all shall know what to expect from the arrangement.
