Relationship Note on Sydney
So...only second to the arrival of my nephew and niece was winning the Senior Division of the Southport Bowl. Many fine combatants out there (though I still think my cousin Domonico influenced someone to keep me out of the Legendary ranked contest) who put up one hell of a fight.
Congratulations as well to the winner of the Legendary ranked contest, Sydney (my cousin went out first, in case you were wondering). I will have to wonder how I would have fared facing her.
She was very generous in joining me in donating our winnings to the Mercies in their effort to build a hospital.

Not only am I a father, but now an uncle as well. Children I can spoil and send back (Yes, sistermine...paybacks...). In all seriousness, congratulations to my sister entering the role of motherhood, the next phase of life's journey.

My sister was kind enough to bring our sons plushies in the shape of a falcon (for Iacapo) and a raven (for Marrok). I get the feeling Isidora and I will not have to spoil them as it will be done without our even trying.

Made it to the semi-finals in the Tournament Joust. I really need to spend more time in the riding gauntlet on the Valardin grounds. The last ride was a bit sloppy.

Relationship Note on Isidora
I do not know how women handle pregnancy. My wife is one of the strongest women I know. My company cannot be all she needs and an I am very over-protective. I am sure she will tire of me and tell me she doesn't want to see me for a while, eventually. She is rather amazing...and the fact she has not tried to murder me in my sleep speaks to her restraint.

Relationship Note on Oliver
Often, we never think about the people who have a place in our lives.
My first social event upon my arrival to Arx, indeed my first few hours, was the wedding of Joscelin and Oliver. I had no idea who either of them were, just that I was a guest of another member of my extended family and felt horrid that, unprepared as I was, all I could offer to the couple were my well wishes.
My second true meeting with the man was enlisting him for my outfit for the Gala around the historical figures of the land. The outfit he made for me was incredible, still the best I own, and I had even inquired at the time if he would be interested myself as a patron.
It had fully been my plan to reach out to him, if I could, to dress me when eventually I was wed....
I had very little exposure to the man, and yet he was key in my mind as someone I could rely on and believe in. Think about this with the people you deal with on a daily basis, even those you may only cross paths with once or twice a year. No one is insignificant...
My heart goes out to his wife and those who had deeper ties to him than my own minor ones....
Gods help those responsible if they cross my path, however briefly...

So I finally took the plunge and instead of borrowing steeds from the Volkovs, decided to acquire one. He is a magnificent specimen and should serve me well as I seem to be doing quite a bit more jousting than I had initially intended....and rides and maybe hunts will be nice in the future.

Relationship Note on Helia
Officially 0-1 with the Champions. Lost my first official duel to Helia in the initial round of the Unrivaled tournament. I got a little cocky, I think, after my last sparring session with Princess Reese Grayson. Might not get me any confidence regarding future duels, but it is what it is. Could also surprise folks and be a spoiler. Just have to see how it works out.

Relationship Note on Reese
Without question, I would tell you that training with Princess Reese is worth the wait. I had commented before and will again that any who are combat-minded should spend a morning or an afternoon ducking the lovely lady’s mace (doing so in the dark is foolish and she will connect more than you can duck). You will get more than just the combat knowledge out of it as she is truly a great person to get to know.

Relationship Note on Barric
Really, I had only met Sir Barric Grayson once, early at my arrival to Arx. We did not speak much, but I thought it fitting to honor the man with my first jousting effort. I did not win, but I did not fall either. I think the latter is more honoring than the former. I would hope that someone remembers me in a similar fashion someday...that I might have half the impact.

Won one of the five cloaks at the Gala. It is beautiful work, though I wonder what I might do with it. I think Miranda already has eyes for it. I had hoped for one of the two that could compliment armor, but it was not fated to bed. Congratulations to those that managed to pull those in, as well as the rest of those who took home these functional works of art. I may need to reach out about an outfit that might match the cloak now.

Relationship Note on Oliver
Unlike the family Masquerade, I took some initiative in looking for something to wear to the Gala early this time. My first event attended upon arriving to Arx was the wedding of Guildmaster Joscelin and Oliver Arterius. With that in mind, and knowing Oliver was one of those who handled dressing the men of Arx, I went to him with material and color ideas and asked him to surprise me. All I can say is that the only thing I am missing now is one of those legendary cloaks being raffled at the event. I think I may have found my tailor. My cousin, the Duchess Rubino, will be happy that I am finally dressing in something other than armor and rags...

This is something I might gamble you would not hear:
“I was beset by dragons, lovely, glorious and fearsome...but really...it was the peacock that gave me the greatest concern.”
I am sure my sister, Miranda, got no end of amusement at the Masquerade last evening...partly at my expense.
All I can say is that I have stated may times I am not a peacock, but my sister apparently is... and a very good one at that, taking a runner-up spot for best costume. A hell of a debut, if I say so, myself.

A remarkably complex young woman with the bearing and wisdom of a warrior, but a definite mix of delicate and savage beauty. I only wish she had not spooked when she did. I may have to seek her out, as well as he companion. There is a curiosity as we had just started comparing styles and choices of weapon when she departed. And if the talk of skill of her companion is as interesting, then it shall be worthwhile, indeed.
