Tick tock.
Time is running out.
It pains me to have sent my people from Blancbier to Sanctum, to abandon Wyrmhold, which has been within my family's keeping since the previous Reckoning. By oath and by sword, we have defended it. And even now, that which we have guarded remains safe.
We remain true to our Oaths. Though I was not at Sanctum, my heart stands with my family and my people as they stand and hold against the onslaught. I grieve for the terrible cost.
Yet, I have another duty. A grave duty. I am ready to fulfill it, though I was ever doubtful it would ever truly fall to me, or in my lifetime.
Wyrmguard stands ready.

My brother would likely chide me for not doing my duty in writing of my return to the city sooner, were he still around. It has been a whirlwind of activity since I arrived, with no signs of slowing. It is a blessing to be here with my husband and my sister again, though as usual, duty takes precedence. There is much to do.

Being a mother is hard. Now that we have little Dashiell, he's sleeping a lot, pooping a lot, eating a lot, and burping a lot. I think he's sheer perfection, but isn't that how all mothers are supposed to think?
Is it weird, that I want another one so soon? This time hopefully, the gods will give us a girl.

I believe the answer is... it depends.
If a minister of coin were to joke about crashing value of a good or silver, that would be seen with scrutiny. Or if a minister of health were to joke about someone's sexual proclivities and its consequences, that also might be taken a bit more seriously.
I honestly cannot say as I have a poor sense of humor. However, when a joke is made with an actionable item, it rises beyond the level of mere jest to something that can potentially be taken seriously. That is how I interpreted it anyway.
I think in the end, it all comes down to wisdom and experience of knowing what should be said and when it is appropriate when it is not. I feel like I am belaboring a point, and I do not wish to beat on dead horses.
Oh, as a segue, I would still like to learn more about your research. Bad timing, I know, but if you have time, I'd like to chat with you more. We can discuss these things or other topics of interest.

We are nobles. She is nobility. I would hold any office holder to conduct themselves at a higher standard than the masses, especially one with a title with weight. To say something that could potentially lead to political backlash from a press secretary of the crown is not wise, nor is it noble. If she wants to joke about other things then I say, give her the freedom, but when it comes to acts or even accusation of such things like spying, then she should act befitting her station.

I would recommend you getting lessons in humor. I know I am a dour sourpuss, so I would happily pay for lessons in public relations for you as well considering the hubub you stirred.

Yes your grace, but she speaks for the crown. It is very easy to take what she says out of context for a generally uninformed populace. I would like to hear King Alaric's take on this considering Saoirse has the authority to speak for the crown and this could besmirch the fine Valardin name.
