It seems to me that much of Arvum is obsessed with love and courtship. Many are utterly fascinated by the feelings of infatuation and flirtations. I wish I could understand that obsession, but I do not. People are quite lovely and beautiful all, but rarely do I have an interest in more than a stimulating conversation these days. I feel no longing toward romance. I have no opinion on marriage-- though I am aware it has been a topic heatedly debated recently --for I am far too young to have to worry about marriage. I am just now stretching my wings as an adult. Just now finding my footing in the world and learning what I would like to do with this life I have been blessed with.

That being said, if one more person mistakes my friendliness for an invitation for more than anything but conversation I am going to lock myself up in the Great Achives and never speak to anyone again.

P.S.

I know it is accepted and considered a polite greeting but I truly find having my fingers kissed invasive. And I would invite others to consider if they find this greeting appealing or not. Do you want someone you have just met to take your hand (and please note that my hands are oft dirty for I am a gardener) and lay their mouth against your knuckles?

I don't.

Relationship Note on Riagnon

Oh, rest assured, that has the oldest and most dapper of all the worms Sir Baywormther will be involved! He will be leaving behind his squire, however, to take up the mantle of Knight of the Red Wrigglers in the composting bin.

Relationship Note on Riagnon

I have begun collecting a clew of some of my beloved worms to send to Lord Riagnon Acheron for a project he is working on. As I do I can't help but be a little bit sad. I have, after all, given them all names. But I know that my sweet little wrigglers will help the soil quality. They are not burrowing worms but they excel in places where there is dense vegetal or zoological detritus. Still, I am quite sad to see them go. Even Inquisitor Wormka.

It is quite peculiar just how soothing I find gardening to be. I think I shall see about getting soil samples from the different fealties of Arvum, to see where I might find the most fertile soil for growing. Though, perhaps, I should start with the territories within the Northlands first.

Relationship Note on Darren

Darren is surely the best cousin that a Princess could have. I feel blessed of having his support.

Dear Mother-

I got your letter just recently. Yes, things are going quite well here in Arx. No, I feel perfectly well, thank you. My sister and my cousins are all taking excellent care of me.

As I may have mentioned in a previous letter; her grace, Liara Grayson, has taken me as a protege. She and I have begun to work on a project for me to spearhead here in the city. If all goes to plan with it I might travel home sometime to head up a similar project there.

On that note-- did you know that there is a particular type of worm that someone has decided to call 'red wrigglers'? They're very good at fertilizing soil. The flowers I have started growing outside of my windows here in the villa are growing quite well! I think I might have some talent in agriculture and cultivation!

But I should get back to my research now.

Yours,
Bellamy

Relationship Note on Liara

[A hand done copy of this letter is filed with the Great Archive.]

Dearest Mother,

I hope that all is well in Farhaven. I'm sorry I haven't written to you sooner, but everything here in Arx is so exciting and new! There's so much to do and so much to see. I haven't even yet managed to explore the entire city, but I will.

I wanted to belatedly share with you some good news! Princess Liara Grayson, the High Lady of the Crownlands, agreed to take me on as a protege! She's been so amazing so far! She's supporting my sudden interest in agriculture-- I'll write more about that soon! --and she's an amazing listener, and so good at guiding you to find what you want to do.

I think you would really like her! And I think she'll be an amazing patron, and help me go really far.

Yours,Bellamy

Relationship Note on Shard

My first impression of this woman, who I have come to learn is 'Prima' Shard, was that of a brutal warrior. She spoke of gruesome implements of war and hunting as if they were common day things. However, as we have continued to encounter each other she has oddly been kinder to me than people of Arx, I have encountered. Meaning no insult to the Prima, but I have glanced at her journals and have caught wind of people speak of her...

I must wonder if I am so annoying to my own people that a Prodigal that many would consider a rabble-rouser has been kinder to me in her unadulterated indifference than born citizens of the Compact?

[A song in progress, untitled]:

This morning early I went (oh-ho)
To the riverside shore
To lie 'neath the summertime leaves
To dance in warm gleeful winds
And pluck up pearly shells from the sands
And who should I meet?
(Oh who should I greet?)
