I've had the good fortune to be Princess Saoirse Velenosa's protege for a number of years now and I've never regretted it at all. Obviously her brilliance and sharp wit are treasures of the Lyceum, and I will lend my sword to defend her life whenever it is needed.

Stumps managed to eat one of Saoirse's rings when he delivered a message on my behalf.

I am not sure if she would like the ring back. I mean, it doesn't smell or anything -- it was -well- cleaned -- but there is that mental hurdle of knowing where it was discovered that might make the piece less than desirable.

Saoirse is the cousin that I plan things with. We've always been perfect compliments to each other. Where I occupied the shadows behind the family, Saoirse was always the face. She knows how to wine and dine, I know how to disappear and smear. The family couldn't have asked for better children.

Confrontation, when last I checked we publicly agreed with each other twice in the Whites. I will assist you though Princess, should you ever encounter a 'rik' sounding name outside of the Redrain ward I would wager silver it is the commendable Lord Erik whose parents have good taste in names and not the well bearded Lord Arik who enjoys his own ward.

Oh, many reasons, dear cousin.
Sometimes we fall, other times we are pushed. But I suppose that if one is not falling or failing every so often, one is not trying enough, yes?
However, it is not the fall that matters. It is the landing and the rising up again that counts most. The inevitable scars we get from this marks the moments of our resilience and experience -- a sometimes all too sharp reminder where we have been, where we are and where we are hoping to go.
I admire those who rise again and fight on despite all. Regardless of their challenges, large or small, that spirit makes me smile. I honour it and respect it.
I hope I can manifest such grace and inner strength. Even more so, I hope I am able to bring good things to others and help them rise when they need to.

Because these are not letters. They are journals. And we are tasked by Vellichor to write journals. If love is what someone feels the urge to write about, it is their right, perhaps even duty, to do so.
I should think that as someone who styles themselves an academic this would be obvious.
Considering the content of some of the oldest journals I have read, "I love Lady Keski" is certainly not so far from "I am sulking" when it comes to something not all that interesting to read for most people.
It is noteworthy that it takes more effort to read the journals of other people than it does to not. Imagine how that time could be spent, the books that could be read, what sort of new and exciting sandwiches one could invent.
I should think that as someone who styles themselves an academic this would be obvious.

Life is short. One should seek to enjoy pleasurable things as often as possible, yes? Indulge your passions and desires and bring happiness to others. What better way to enjoy life while serving the greater good?

So many roses, not enough thorns, I say. But, according to the Rose Cipher written by my cousin, Juliet Fidante, a thorn-less rose is a symbol of love at first sight; one may pair this with the complimentary color to strengthen the sentiment. For example, A lavender rose without thorns. Now, imagine my embarrassment when I first learned of this after gifting King Alaric numerous arrangements of roses without thorns while he was stricken in coma. To be young and naive again.
