My cousin and I have been working quite hard for sometime now. At first we had no purpose more than to obtain more. Now, however, we have a goal in mind for the rewards of our labor. In the coming months, and years for this will no doubt take time, shall be exciting and lifechanging... I think.

I tell myself often that I need to spend more time with Mailys, and I do.
There is absolutely nobody who I can trust more. She is quick to tell me when I'm overreacting. She's the only one who can soothe me out of anger. She gives the best advice, and doesn't judge me. (At least openly.) She feels more like a sister than a cousin, but we're linked by blood, and that is all that really matters.

A petite bundle of joy and vibrant energy. Open-hearted and welcoming. She has an amazing closet (most certainly on par with Ariel's) and she has the most infectious smile. Seriously, walk up to Mailys and just try to be in a bad mood. You'll fail. Except for Lord Darrow. He would remain unmoved because we all know that his heart is basalt. However, I digress. Mailys is perfectly lovely and I look forward to being better friends with her.

Mistress Mailys is a Whisper, a courtesan with a very daring and bold spirit I'd say. She's been slowly growing on me, since that one time she dared to asked to be interviewed for the position of captain House Velenosa's guard. Of course, she didn't get it, she's nowhere near qualified, but the fact that she tried was both amusing and refreshing. She's earnest in what she want, honest and upfront and that is not something you see often. Could it be that she what she presents? Perhaps, but there is something I see in those eyes of hers, that make me think that perhaps I'm wrong. That perhaps there is so very much more.

Let's get the obvious thing out of the way: I'm not one who quickly reaches out to a Whisper. What they can do, I can do if I put the time in. But then you slowly gain a year and then another, and eventually the wrinkles start to catch up with you, and you realize that some things are just not as much of a given as they used to be.
Combined with the fact that Gabriel has once more taken the Regency upon his manly shoulders, this means that there is too much to do and just too little time to do it right. And when I grumbled about this, someone said the obvious I hadn't even thought of...
Who better to rely on to grease the wheels of life than a Whisper?
So I stepped into the Whisper House the other day and had a quite pleasant conversation. Truly, I can't say I am too much at ease there; the place feels a bit too.. forced, for a lack of better words coming to mind right now. But that might just be my awkwardness talking.
Miss Mailys Whisper was quite kind in receiving me, and was very helpful. In the past few days, she's shown me some of her capacity in crafting wood, which made me happy I took the plunge and relied on her to make a small gift. Besides that, she has drawn up a number of suggestions for an event that is in the works, and those too are looking wonderful.
I may just come to rely on Whispers if they are all as capable as this one...

A lovely woman I met in the whisper house. She seemed to be trying to drown her sorrows, and mentioned that she was mending a broken heart. I hope I can meet her again, and take her mind off of her heartbreak, if even for only a few moments.

Every day Mirari surprises me in some way. Last night it was with a new relative. A courtesan recently free of her contract, Mailys is a delight of buoyant smiles and good cheer. We didn't get to talk long, but the girl has a sort of lightness of spirit that shines right through. She's a boon for us, and for Arx, and quite welcome.
