New partnership foraged this week. One, I must say, I'm rather pleased with.
It would seem that the fickle finger of fate and Lowers luck has decreed that I am to fall under Brother Felix's strong and sturdy wing going forward. I'm sure there's much in store for us both.
Truth be told, I'm looking forward to this. The man is obviously respected, skilled and has great taste in protégé.
Not a bad start to the story. Let's see where it leads.

Relationship Note on Felix
All things pass when their time comes. This does not make the loss of my favorite scythe any less irritating. Its wooden handle broke, perhaps hastened along by the heavy, wet snow we have endured all winter. I have had my best craftsmen build new handles to the previous one's exact specifications, but none was able to replicate the grace and ease of that original handle, which allowed me to swing my huge weapon with the facility of a sword.
What soothes my annoyance at the loss of my scythe is the work of Brother Felix Meadson. He has crafted a sword that moves as though it is part of my hand, rather than merely gripped by it. I am so awed by this weapon that I have titled it The Blood of Redreef, and I have no doubt that when it becomes my time to pass, it will serve Baronesses and Barons of Redreef for many generations to come.

Gloria, what a beauty is my new weapon! I've never seen its like - neither in form nor in craftsmanship. The iridescite lilies absolutely shine against the alaricite; and the craftsmanship, the detail on the wolf is extraordinary. I'm so proud of it, so proud of my Moonsilver. Felix, too, is so thoughtful; he even managed to carve a detail into the moonstone at the base of the pommel to resemble the Ashford motif.
The priest is a master, truly. Jayus must be proud, extremely proud.
And I have found reason to be happy again.
I simply love it and it will never leave my side.

SUBJECT: BROTHER FELIX MEADSON
He must be pretty important. I keep hearing his name crop up and I've had friends encourage me to go visit him whenever I have the time.
The first time I did, there were too many people around to get a good gauge on his character, but the second time.. You'know, I really needed a friend to listen to me moan and complain, and he was happy to be that person in that paticular moment.
He seems kind, even though he can be an insufferable tease (nobody likes smug grins, okay?) and he's certainly patient. But he also seems a bit lonely, but maybe I'm reading into something he said a little too much.
Either way, I plan to visit again soon.
And Brother, if you're reading this..

I've been spending more time in Master Felix's shop lately! I've never met a more patient man. Other than my father. Not to say Felix is like my father. That's just weird! Just that he answers my questions with patients and debates with me and explains things to me in ways I get!

Years ago, while still an apprentice, I met a fellow apprentice when our Masters met and worked together.
I admit, I had a bit of a crush. But business ended and we parted ways. I never knew what happened to him until, shortly after arriving in Arx, I walked into Seaborn Weaponry and there he was. Ever since I arrived, he's been not only a stalwart support, but also a wonderful friend and companion.
The celebration he put on for my patronage was wonderful and more than necessary, by far. But it was also endearingly sweet and a pleasure.

I've always been a fan of the magnificent hairpins sold by Brother Felix, not only are they beautiful but useful for a small woman like me. Imagine my sheer delight and surprise when he invited me to model and inspire one.
The result is outstanding, although I am biased, but those who are familiar with his work will know it must be true.

I spend most of my money on the house and the family, but the last year I've slowly saved up, and I was given some allowance from the Iron Guard for a better weapon. Nothing wrong with my rubicund spear or the steel claymore - they are excellent weapons. But they are getting well used and worn, and I needed a new one. So, it was diamondplate this time.

I had the honor and privilege recently of performing Master, now Brother, Felix Meadson's Godsworn vowtaking ceremony. He has been an asset and an ally to the Knights of Solace since before I was even a fumbling squire in the Order, and he's been a friend to me for some time. I look forward to seeing where his path takes him.

Well, I was pleased to see an old friend who kept Setarco armed for so long. Now he's going to make me a pair of rapiers that I know will be lethal works of art. I ought to give him a big, manly hug.

Met the weaponsmith today. He was a charming man, even if he was covered soot and grime from his work. His work sings praises to Jayus and it pleases my soul to gaze upon his handiwork.
Hopefully, I will be able to extend my own skills into Felix's business. I can weave and tailor exquisite pieces, yes, but my leathercraft needs work as well. I hope I can make some more decorative sheaths for his customers so that we both may benefit from the mutual arrangement.
Besides, it is always wise to make acquaintance with a man who can handle heavy weaponry.
Hopefully, I will be able to extend my own skills into Felix's business. I can weave and tailor exquisite pieces, yes, but my leathercraft needs work as well. I hope I can make some more decorative sheaths for his customers so that we both may benefit from the mutual arrangement.
