Charming and helpful, my two favorite qualities in a person. He never takes life too seriously, and yet there's the sense that if you needed him to, he would. It's like he knows that the world is full of incredible and magical things, just waiting for our wits to grow sharp enough to perceive them. And I think his wit is closer than most to that point.

I have been horribly betrayed.
Why didn't we just leave you on the island? You looked like you were having such a good time.
If anyone has particularly inventive ways to hide the bodies of the close friends who betray you in VERSE, I am all ears. Lies, slander, and lying slander. Tomato-red? Am I suffering some manner of horrible infection? Anyone who has seen me knows that my complexion is quite pale. As far as lettuce, I will happily meet anyone in the ring who suggests that anything on me is crunchy and/or green or itchy.
Ras is the worst, and bards are a close second.

Busy, busy day. To say I didn't spend the bulk of it drunk would be to tell a lie, but still a productive day.
Made a more thorough acquaintance of Evaristo, whom I first met during the People's Champion tournament. Easier to talk to than I anticipated, and what's better, he actually shared a drink with me rather than just watching me plaster myself. I think it's been a stretch since his drinking days. I had a lead on him in empties, and he still had to tap out first. Asked me to walk him home, and I was happy to oblige. A couple of drunks stretching their legs. He's made some silver, and no mistake, but it doesn't seem to have turned him all... silky. I respect that. I respect that a lot.
Agreed to show up to his housewarming party, even though he disclaimed that some even silkier folks may show - hope I'm able to make an appearance, if even brief. One of my many responsibilities may keep me away.

I've previously notified my assistant to bring me any Whites that mention my cousin, mostly out of interest and partially because, with how busy we both are, it's one of the easiest, most anti-social ways of keeping track of the man. Lately, I will have a stack of copied entries on my desk to read during tea, only to have a harried messenger return with another stack. And another. And another!
Well done, cousin. This feels like a flashback from when you and Ianthe would get into trouble and I'd have a guard or a merchant or a ruffian or someone knocking on our doors to tell me where to find you -this- time.
