Lady Elora has finished training the bird I requested. A most delightful violet and teal swallow, one she says is larger than most, has been delivered to me. It's a beautiful creature and seems well trained if a little feisty. I've been listening to its song all day and it has not grown old.

I got an early birthday present! Wait, I'm not yelling, stop covering your ears! Anyway, Lady El--Elora, sorry, she got me and trained my very own hawk! A Whitehawk hawk. He's so beautiful. And smart. And uh--loud and stubborn. He needs a name. I asked Triton, but he gave me names like Gale, and Hurriane, and Tornado. I feel like he was giving ME nicknames. I don't know! Gale didn't sound so bad. Anyone have ideas?! Anyway, he's beautiful! Best birthday ever! Almost birthday? Whatever.

Lady Elora Whitehawk is an outstanding young woman. I have been so lucky to not only make her acquaintance, but to also be her patron. She has been so kind and humble, wondering if I had somehow threatened the guards near the Grayson district into bowing with respect at her presence. I've certainly done no such thing. I have only spoken highly of her and have done so with total and complete sincerity. I am very excited to work with her and learn from her. Lady Elora will be soon instructing me on how to better care for animals. This is absolutely out of my realm of comfort. May the gods be merciful and kind as I begin this journey.

I owe my wife's cousin a debt of gratitude. Although the outcome wasn't what was desired, her skills with animals have brought much needed clarity to a situation rife with uncertainty. It's also pretty convenient that she wasn't eaten. All-in-all a success!

I'm so happy that you're settling in so well. I know how bewildering the city can be when you first arrive. It seems as though you'll thrive here, though, and I'm sure you'd be a wonderful asset to addition to the Physician's Guild and the Academy of War.
