Relationship Note on Aldwin
As prodigal, I have not always felt most welcomed by Compact.
Some people good and friendly. Much curious.
Some people curious for reasons I do not agree with.
This though... this decision you have made to separate us and make us different? That is the opposite of bringing us together. That is saying: You are not worthy of us.
I am glad to be a Prodigal.
I am glad to be of Southlands now with friends and loved ones.
I am not glad I will never be a Scholar, or a Mercy. That my knowledge is somehow not good, my healing is somehow not good, because I also believe in the sun coming up. The seasons changing. Fire being hot.
All of these things are as true as the Spirits are.
As true as the Gods.
Willful ignorance is tool of greatest enemies.
Is sad this Compact can no be as welcoming of those who swear oaths as say.

Relationship Note on Aldwin
For he is Closest to the Gods. The Dominus is unapproachable when it comes to the matters of the Faith. While this is a decision people may be reeling from I can assure you that in some ways I can see how it brings us closer together. By celebrating our differences and respecting the culture and religions of the North and any other Abandoned House that chooses the Path of Shamanism. We can't continue to believe that the divide that has separated people for centuries doesn't exist. What we can do is amend the mistakes that were made in the past and set true our courses. The Gods watch us now and sometimes they act on our behalf. They deserve Disciples who are devoted to them utterly and completely! For anything less is not only a disservice to the Faith but to the Gods. The Dominus has not decried Shamanism or taken away the right for people to choose.
Remember that the Spirit Walkers /are/ the institution that belongs to Shamanism and adheres to the Old Ways.

I went to see the Dominus about joining the Faith. With all that I've experienced recently, it only seemed fitting to formalize my service to Petrichor, even if his Discipleship is one of the less organized. In any case, the man has long been a friend to our family and was exceptionally kind with me. Not only did he help see me quickly admitted to the Discipleship, but he also spent a fair bit of time tutoring me in various matters of theology and about the recent troubles. A most wonderful teacher.

There's never a wasted word to be shared with the Dominus. Whether the conversation is casual and friendly - something I should try to hold with the man more often - or picking apart more weighty matters, I find I always leave his presence with something to think about.

That I can call the Dominus of the Faith a friend is a blessing itself. That Aldwin is such a caring, concerned man who treats me with warmth and equity is far beyond a blessing. I do not know of any who could speak ill of him, not rightfully so. Those that do, do not know the true man. It is easy to allow our eyes to be clouded by selfishness, as I learned myself just recently. I am sorry.

I like the old man, for all we lead very different lives. He came into his position at a good time for those like me, that is certain. I do wish he'd speak more directly though. His language and mine - they vary at times. Misunderstandings can be made.

There has been tension between man and Faith of late: and I caused part of it.
For this I apologize.
But we must look forward, to the real foe.

The new Dominus is a man like none other. He is warm and kind and he truly cares about every soul in the Compact. I believe the leadership of the Faith could not have chosen a better Voice of the Gods, nor one who embodies them so well.

A new Dominus has been chosen. I missed his first public appearance, nor do I know the man.
However, I did have honor of meeting the man when I visited the cathedral early one morning. Obviously, I was not expecting to meet, nevermind share a discussion with the man who has caught the eyes of the Compact right now. That was awkward.
We shared the same sunrise, and spoke of yesterday and tomorrow. It was not only pleasant, but surprisingly insightful.
If this is where the Faith is headed as a whole, then perhaps I can once more see beauty in the Faith itself.
A lovely man indeed.

Not sure who's to be the Archscholar now, but I think they have to pick a new one. I hope they're as wise as the last, though I'm not the person to speak of it. I'm not a scholar and I'm not too talented for scholarly matters. But I expect Archscholar Aldwin was a proper scholar besides being wise, which isn't always the same thing.
Archscholar Aldwin was always willing to listen to common folk. He read all the journals, or he had his scholars read the parts to him that had questions that mattered, and that's something. Folk are confused these days, and for good reason. I myself had plenty of questions, and he was patient with me. Even if some answers just made my head hurt, and I don't mind saying it, that's not rightly his fault. It's just the way things are these days.
Half of what's wrong in the city is that folk can't be sure of anything anymore, if you ask me. There's all the politics and such too, but that's just harder to swallow when the high-born are talking about things you've never seen. So it ought to be the Faith to explain things to everyone, but in a way folk can understand and makes sense. That's a job and a half. But seeing as the Dominus had some practice with it, I wager that's what they were thinking when they picked him.
I felt bad already for bothering the Archscholar about my problems and questions when he was the Archscholar, and I don't reckon he's got the time to be bothered now that he's the Dominus. But, the way I see it, if the Faith explains things to the commons then I won't have to bother anyone, will I?

The Archscholar -- now Dominus -- has been a valued friend and teacher to me for some time. He's one of the handful outside of family who are all but family. The handful I'd defend with my life as readily as I would my own brother or sister, my cousins and kin. He's been one of the handful of voices I'll always stop and at least listen to, both in the troubles we're facing and in my own philosophical questions.
I trust he'll be an excellent Dominus.

I didn't know Fawkuhl at all. I'd never met him nor spoken to to him. Because of his position and the dark forces we're constantly being attacked and manipulated by, I've tried to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I've met Dominus Aldwin. He's a wise and learned scholar. His very first official words to us all as Dominus are encouraging. I have great hopes that he can mend the rift between the Faith and the Houses. Divided and at odds, we can only fall to the demons and the forces arrayed against us.

In a world where even the pious can sometimes regard their new peers as rivals, the then-Archscholar stood out for his warm welcome, and his kind assistance in ensuring that I knew what I needed to know, in order to best serve the Sentinel and the Faith.
Since then, this first impression has has only been reinforced. Our new Dominus is a man of uncommon wisdom, as one might expect from one who served so long as the Voice of Vellichor. But more, he is a man who exemplifies the virtues of the Pantheon that we all strive to fulfill. I can think of no better choice to lead the Faith, and the Faithful, in these times of confusion and conflict.
May the gods bless Dominus Aldwin, Voice of the Pantheon, Closest to the Gods.
