Relationship Note on Lailah
I invited Lady Lailah to take tea with me this week, and find her to have a keen mind and penchant for asking probing questions. Her directness and mode of speech did at one point leave me needing to pick my jaw up from the floor but I think I've found a friend in her.
We finished the last jar of summer fruit preserves that were so carefully prepared for the household last year. It's been such a favourite with everyone that I'll have to ask Claudette if she can make double quantities this coming year.

Relationship Note on Lailah
I feel highly favored to be in the presence of my niece's intellectual largesse. Even now, she toils on preliminary efforts to curate a library dedicated to the education and instruction of Lagoma's healers. It's a feat I doubt I could have undertaken personally and yet, for Lailah it seems second nature.

While I have not had the chance to meet Lady Bisland in person, correspondence I have had with her leads me to believe she is a wonderful person. Please, scholar, note this down:

I just found out that she can heal.
She came to help me after I got

Valencia found her and brought
her to the grotto to heal me.

Even as you bear silence towards me, I hope you know that there are few I have more respect for than you. We may not always agree with each other, but I will always respect your opinion. Not long ago, when I was speaking to our cousin Valerius, I sang your praises--a practice that happens frequently when you're not in the room. A practice, that, perhaps, I should aim to do when you're around so you understand your value in my eyes.
You are by far the most brilliant person I know. You have instinct, knowledge, and the ability to find an answer when there isn't one. When things happen that I don't understand, I seek your counsel. And while I may not say it enough to your face, know that behind your back, all I have are praises about your abilities and the incredible woman that you are.
And if your devotion to Vellichor must take precedent, I will never stand in your way. You are my sister, and far smarter than myself. You are purposed to do something great with your life.
Know that I would've told you in person, but I'd rather not relay my applause through a third party. I could've written it in a message, but I wanted it recorded for posterity for all to read. And so it's here; left to ensure you know your value--both to this city and to me.

Relationship Note on Lailah
Very few choose the Scholars of Vellichor as their first choice. We have many reluctant members who come because scholarship is an easy, steady employement, but I find Lailah to be different. She has a passion for it, and I could see great things in her future.
