It is done. I've managed to schedule the concert House Igniseri will be hosting on a night where there are no other events. Lucita will be working on finding entertainment. If you are an entertainer and reading this, please feel free to reach out to my cousin. Everyone else - consider yourself invited, and feel free to bring a picnic basket for yourselves. We'll be serving stuffed olives and debuting yet more of our wines.

Houses with other wares they are known for are welcome to contact House Igniseri to potentially present them at the concert.

Now, to find the things we need to provide enough seating for everyone. And, perhaps, prettify our atrium just a bit more. One's work is never done.

I met with Mistress Mirari this morning to talk about wines, which possibly wasn't the most well thought plan I cooked up. But, I'm still new to this being a Marquessa thing, and while she did not walk away buying some of our wines, she did walk away with some of our other commodities: olives. She is now selling our herbed olive oils in her family's shop. I hope that she does well with them, and that perhaps others will want our olive products as much as they've contacted us for our wine products.

Vincere, Pietro - wherever you might exist now - I am trying to do my best, I promise. I miss you both so terribly, terribly much. One day, I might even forgive you for dying and leaving me alone to deal with running a house.

Another batch of wine has been delivered to Lady Monique Greenmarch for the Spring Soiree. I hope that the batch turns out as well as I hoped, and that people enjoy it. This is the second time we've supplied wine for an event under my watch - the first was for one of our own events.

Lucita and I are planning a concert event very soon, where we will be serving some new wines - and some old familiar wines. We'll be encouraging people to come with a picnic luncheon of their own. We've dubbed it a "Picnic and a Concert". Or, something along those lines. Now, we need only find the entertainment and post the event to the boards so people know about it.

I am not my mother. I am not my mother. I am not my mother. I have to keep reminding myself this. Every time Lucita brings up potential marriage prospects for myself, I feel my heart clench and sweat going down my back, and I back out of the conversation before she has a chance to blink. I mean, who is really going to want to marry someone whose mother's three different husbands all died mysterious deaths anyway? I never even got to know my father, he died before I was even born, and I was shipped off because my step-father died. It's something that haunts me more than I thought it ever would. It's just best for everyone that we focus on the other members of the family, and not myself. I just couldn't bear it if my mother's curse followed me.

I had a great time at Marquis Hadrian's Not-A-Birthday-Party party. Lord Wash decided to escort both my cousin Lucita and I, and I allowed it. He was an attentive escort, and lent me his carriage when I had to leave early. It seems there have been attacks in the city, so it was likely best we had an escort. I heard later from Lucita that Lord Wash is an exceptional dance partner. I sincerely wish I could have stayed longer, but there was some business I had to attend. Maybe next time. I do hope that Marquis Hadrian liked our gifts for his Not-A-Birthday-Party party.

Last week Lucita and I worked very hard to put together all the details for the wine tasting event to benefit House Thrax. I think it all came together rather smashingly. We hired Whisper House for entertainment, and showcased our rose hip and raspberry wines, and re-released our special edition Daylight wine - the one with the citrusy undercurrents, with pears and tart apples.

Master Cesare and Mistress Nisaa both performed admirably, with Lucita filling in here and there with musical interludes. The event was well attended, and even King Alaric came! He donated a very generous 150 economic writs to the cause, as well as bought several bottles of wine. And, through the support of the event, I also managed to raise another 250 economic writs on their behalf. I couldn't be more pleased with the show of support from everyone.

I am waiting for key members of House Thrax to come back from defending the Isles of the Maelstrom from the Darkwater that is rising there, before I present them with the proceeds from our event. I hope that they find they can put them to good use.

I am already looking forward to the next thing to work on. Keeping busy with this event has helped push away the sadness that I often feel over the loss of my brothers. Grief sucks, sometimes. So many people seemed so pleased with events being held in Domus Igniseri again that I hate to disappoint them, so hopefully we can work on something again soon.

I had the opportunity to attend the ARRG meeting last evening, and I managed to drag Lucita with me. We were both quite moved by the goals of the organization, and decided to join. Already, I am thinking of ways to help those in need, to find them housing, food and clothes, and other means of helping the refugees of our city to become self sufficient once more.

I am not martial, like my brothers were, but this... this is a worthy cause, and it's something I think I can do well.

Construction on the great hall at Domus Igniseri is completed. Finally. Now to plan the wine tasting that will the debut event within the hall. I've tasked Lucita with finding entertainment for the evening, and hope that she can find other talented people like herself to mingle and make friends with. I fear she's looking to this task as more a chore than anything else; but I have complete confidence in her abilities to complete it.

The days continue, and I still miss my brothers' quite fiercely....

*crosses that out*

I will not dwell. I've dwelt long enough, now is a time for action, and rebuilding - and that is what I shall focus upon.

Relationship Note on Lucita

I finally found some time to sit down and talk to Lucita and see how she's getting settled in. I'm glad that she went to the Velenosa party the other night in my stead. It's a good way to measure how she'll act as Voice for House Igniseri. I've also assigned her some tasks for the house, and I hope that she'll manage them with great ease, though she seemed dubious. I think she just needs to find a steady foothold here, and then she'll flourish. I hope to help her with that as much as I can, even if I'm still trying to find steady ground with which to rest my own two feet as well.

I went ice skating at the Northerlude last week. I'd never been on the ice before, and though I had an iffy bout where I was unstable for a brief few moments, I was able to catch myself and miss running into Lord Corban Telmar. We had an enchanting discussion about our homelands, and I invited him to share some of our Granato wines that I'll be showcasing in an up and coming wine tasting at the house. After all, we musn't let people forget that southern wines are the best.

I received my new hairpins from Mistress Sameera this week. They are blue, and steel, and pointy. They are also set with aquamarines, and go quite well with my outfit, as I had asked. She does excellent work. Did I mention they were pointy? I have decided to start wearing them with the new outfit I had commissioned by Mistress Petal. Blue and white is perfect for the winter season. I just need to remember to get a sturdier wardrobe with a sturdier lock, so the dogs do not destroy everything in it again.

Relationship Note on Leta

I met Dame Leta Broadbent today, after hearing about her exploits in helping to save Vincere and Pietro from rotting on the field after they had died in the siege. I offered her the favor of House Igniseri for the melee in the Tournament of Roses, but Princess Seraphine had already offered favor. I withdrew it, not wanting to conflict with the Princess's favor.

However, I did offer her a like book akin to the favor being offered, for her service in helping to save my brother's bodies from rotting away. She wasn't comfortable for the offer, but I strongly feel that it will help me gain some closure over their deaths. I couldn't help them at their time of most need, I was powerless to do so, but this... this is within my power, and I do hope she claims it at some point.

Now that I've come out of mourning, I've been reading through the journals to capture snippets of information about my family - particularly my brothers. I miss them so much, and I fear that I never truly got a chance to know them as people - what with being fostered away from them almost always. I had hoped to get to know them better when I came to Arx, and then they went on to be heroes who sacrificed their lives for the safety of others.

I admire them for their sacrifice, but also hate them a little bit too - for now I'm left putting the family back together without their wisdom. I can't ever hope to fill their shoes, they were made from a different cloth than I. But, I do hope, beyond hope, that I can do justice by the family.

There are moments though, that catch me off guard, where I wish I could be like Iovita and run home back to Granato and forget about what happened here. But, that's not my nature. There's work to be done, and I will do it.

Relationship Note on Pietro

Pietro was one of my older brothers, and then got himself killed doing heroic things. He went into a beserker rage while fighting the Bringers of SIlence and helped save countless lives. I'm beyond angry that he got himself killed, but -- who can argue that his sacrifice saved so many people. I miss him quite dearly. We didn't have enough time together.

Sigh. I turned my back for one moment. Well, maybe more than one, but still! And those little beasties that Vincere and Pietro left to me destroyed my entire wardrobe. How they possibly got into it, knocked it down and tore everything apart, I can't imagine. But, they did.

They are all I have left of my brothers, so what's a sister to do? I'm going to continue to care for them, of course, but I think I might invest in a lock for the wardrobe next time. And be cross with them for awhile. It's hard to be mad at them when they gave me such pitying looks when they realized how mad I was after their bout of fun.

I guess this now gives me a good reason to buy new clothes - not that I really needed one to begin with. I was able to procure some replacements pretty readily, and make a new order. Thank the Gods for that seamstress Petal Penrose for having things on hand!
