I am reading about a lot of endings in the whites this last week or two. It feels only right to remind the Compact that we have a Queen of Endings, and a small but dedicated group that server her, and advance her message.

Is brooding in tunnels underground better or worse than brooding in towers in the sky? Not that the Marquis would ever brooooood.

THE MURDER OF CROWS DARTS AND DRINKING CONTEST
Winner of the DARTS CONTEST:
Baron Audric de Lire defeated Highlord Victus Thrax to claim victory with a score of 141 points in the final round.
Winner of the DRINKING CONTEST:
Deputy Minister Magpie Grayhope was left standing as Dame Esoka Greenblood fell (literally), after 7 shots of Prince Creston's Black Rum.
No cats were harmed during these contests.

The Crow Soup Kitchen is officially open!
Attached to the Murder of Crows Inn, the Crow Soup Kitchen will offer one free bowl of soup to any citizen of the Compact in need. The kitchen is ran by Mae Grayhope, with the support of the Grayhope and Culler families.
Any that wish to donate to keeping the Crow Soup Kitchen running should contact Mae Grayhope. Likewise, any that wish to volunteer are encouraged to speak to Mae before arriving (especially if noble!) and keep watch for volunteer days.
Due to the very generous donations of many, the Crow Soup Kitchen has enough funding to run for two full years.
I, and everyone that no longer needs to feel the pangs of hunger or make terrible choices rather than see their children go hungry, would like to thank all those that donated:
* The Grayhope and Culler families, who fight so hard for those in the Lowers.
* Archlector Aleksei and Legate Orazio for the initial funds to feed the Crownsworn and Godsworn.
* Prince Victus and Princess Alarissa and all of House Thrax and their vassals.
* Grand Duchess Eleyna and all of House Velenosa and their vassals.
* Princess Donella, Princess Marian, Lady Khanne, Mistress Valery, and all of House Redrain and their vassals.
* Princess Isabeau and all of House Valardin and their vassals.

I wanted to write about greed. I've been dealing with a lot of it lately. I wanted to reflect on what amount of greed is healthy, and at what point greed turns to avarice. But then, just yesterday, I walked past the Shrine of Gild. It says it right there, right in front of the Shrine, on the paving stones: Avarice Builds Cities.

Donations for the Crow Soup Kitchen are coming in! I'm so very happy. We should be opening, officially, soon. And I will be planning an event to celebrate (and continue to raise funds).
So far...
Prince Victus has paid for all Thraxian citizens, and a sizeable donation above that.
Archduchess Eleyna has paid for all Velenosa citizens, and a sizable donation above that.
Princess Donella and Princess Marian have both donated on behalf of Redrain, and together doubled the silver needed to offer food to Redrain citizens in need.
Princess Donella has also offered supplies to help finish the construction of the kitchen, and Princess Tikva has offered the same.
Marquessa Samantha will be supplying wood and furniture, and is also working as a Crown Minister to secure funding from the Crown. Prince Rook, Minister of Coin, is working on a Crown grant to make sure the kitchen stays funded.

For so many years, there was nothing in my life. I had my family, but we were never too close. I had no friends, not really. Nothing good in my life, but also nothing too bad. Life seemed frozen. Life seemed stuck in stasis.
Now? Now my family is more active (even if Acacia is off sailing, still), and I have a whole new family! I have a husband. I've made new friends. I'm running the Murder. I'm a Harlequin. I'm opening the soup kitchen. There's so much happening, and now, everything is moving so fast. And the things that are waking up in the world seem ready to snatch it all away.
How do we slow things back down?
