Relationship Note on Orazio

Logical and clever. Legate Orazio is increasingly proving to be a valuable friend as time wears on. Our first encounter involved facing, and talking down, an impending riot together. More recently he and I had a discussion that was peculiar to say the least. He helped explain, or at least what we think explained, some strange matters that I've experienced.

Only time will tell, but I know that I can look to the Legate for advice in troubling times.

He's pretty funny for a priest!

Relationship Note on Orazio

Though I had known of the Archlector long before he held the title, I only met him when I arrived here in Arx. And I am grateful to have had the opportunity to do so; his counsel in recent times has been a great comfort. He is a just and honourable man of the Faith with an astute mind and generous nature.

Relationship Note on Orazio

Safety, security, justice. He is a good man and a good priest. There are some people who you speak to and you see right away why they do what they do in life. He's one of them. Just by being, he reminds you of the gods' presence in our lives.

Relationship Note on Orazio

**As reported by Eirene's aide de camp Carissa**

Send 'Razio a note will you?

I was going to troll the Feast but Caly thinks it would be a really bad idea, and Kima's afraid I'll make Hadrian look like a moron. We should go get drinks sometime when you're not priesting it officially.

Message sent:
Esteemed Archlector - I had hoped to attend the Feast of Obligation and offer much needed levity but I fear I have been asked not to attend by the Voice of my house for fear my unrefined airs may insult yourself or my nephew the Duke of Southport. Accept my regrets and an invitation for a more personal gathering as your duties permit.

Relationship Note on Orazio

The Archlector remembered me from when I was a small child. Sadly, I could no say the same but it was a sheer pleasure to make his acquaintance. He's a wonderful conversationalist and has excellent taste in food. I should certainly see to inviting him for dinner in the near future.

Relationship Note on Orazio

Ohhhh Orazio... Orazio... Why hast thou cast me out, Orazio? What gregarious mire have I thrust upon you to cause such wicked loathing from an educated man? And what now shall I become against you, because of you.. from you? What vows shall I make in your name? Perhaps I will reach for the wretched and scandalous and turn to slander as you have done. Or perhaps instead I will deepen my faith and call upon yours and hold you instead to higher standards than you have shown to me. Rise up, Orazio! Breathe deeply the fresh air of forest and sea and know that wherever you walk - water and land - I shall ever be within your wary reach.

Relationship Note on Orazio

Archlector Orazio was gracious enough to allow me to hijack his charity bread and soup line. To tell the truth, it became a matter of pride once the man insinuated several times that the task might be beyond me. I told him that Grayson women had been wielding swords for generations and that surely, I could manage a ladle. ...at which point it and almost immediately it became very clear that I had not wielded a ladle in any capacity let alone to serve anyone with it in the entirety of my existence. It was hysterical.

Of course, now I’m waiting patiently for a certain document from the priest which may help me in my own charitable endeavors. It's to be a list of homes deemed unsuitable by the Church for rehoming displaced children.

I rather enjoy making him laugh. Perhaps it's foolish to socialize with someone in his position, but it is nice to not feel bad about discussing the weighty things on my mind.

His kitten is ferociously adorable.

About as tightly wound as the stitching on his robes. We all know the type. I still have faith that he can be reformed.

Relationship Note on Orazio

It was good to see him even if the circumstances surrounding are way too damn dire to even consider. I wish it was entirely different though. We were never close but we were friendly enough. Some weird late night philosophical discussions...

I see old faces of people I knew in my youth and they reassure me that -SOME- bastards here know what they're doing. And it's good to have a clergyman I can trust in a high position who can -do- something about all of this.

But as part of our conversation went; someone is taking out the old hard bastards who have lived and seen plenty of shit in their day. Leaving all these untested youth behind to face gods only know what...

How long until we're next and the funerals are for us?

Relationship Note on Orazio

Well. The Archlector who got up and invoked the invocation- heh- I wondered why he looked so damned familiar. Orazio Saik. Or was a Saik. We knew one another back home; he was a good soldier but his heart wasn't in it. Not surprised he's following Sentinel. He was pretty vocal about the Tee-Ess war and how it was stupid as fuck. Not that I disagreed...

Remind me to look him up. All this weird shit reminds me of something he should know- as a follower of Sentinel and all.

Relationship Note on Orazio

I am uneasy about receiving commissions, especially commissions from nobility. Few who are not artists truly understand the innate unpredictability of art. They expect the piece finished to their specifications, as if the painting could grow out of their mind and not from my hands. They see experimentation as a distraction, and deviation as failure.

Still, Archlector Orazio is more measured and sympathetic to the struggles of artistic intuition than I'd expect from a man of his stature and judgment. Perhaps he is feeling especially whimsical. And it may be that I could stand to grow as an artist. We will see where this goes for now.

Relationship Note on Orazio

So I wasn't expecting the Lady Dawn to maneuver me into such a position so easily, but then, she is single-handedly doing what it is she does best, so.... I shouldn't have been so surprised. However, I won't let it get the best of me next time. Clever, clever woman.

Another thing I didn't expect: for that silver fox of an Archlector to sweep me across the dance floor like that man -knew- what he was doing. A pleasant surprise, a true one, and I daresay I didn't do too badly myself. I haven't danced at an affair in years and years, but the practice privately has paid off. I don't know how quickly I'd jump into it again, but it's nice to be appreciated.

But it's nothing without a good partner if you aren't the one leading. Orazio Saik did his name proud, and his position too.

Relationship Note on Orazio

Archlector Orazio was once more commonly known as Orazio Saik. He was my uncle until he took his vows. As a young girl, I confess that I felt some slight resentment for the perceived abandonment of the family. In my childhood, he was a man that always had time for myself and my brother, was as quick with a joke as he was a sword. He was, I won't deny it, like a hero to me.

I understand it now, of course. Now better than ever. The courage and conviction he displayed when trading his blade for the amulet of Sentinel; the honor and dedication to a cause all should strive to uphold.

What I am saying is that the Archlector Orazio is still a hero to me.

Relationship Note on Orazio

Every child should have an aunt or uncle as Kima and I were blessed to have in our uncle, now Archlector Orazio. It feels so odd to use that title and name. It makes something almost foreign out of something so familiar. I was happy to find that in title alone when Kima and I joined him for a dinner to make far too belated reunion. Despite the robes, despite the title, the man who doted on us as children with little gifts and tried to fool us with his expressionless masks and dire tales is still very much there. With such uncertainty ahead, I am glad to have his wise and trusted voice to turn to here in Arx.
