The Radiant Whisper donated two crowns to the Festival. This means we will have a queen an a king. I still haven't decided if we should marry them I a marriage meant to last the duration of the festival or not.

He made the benches for my fair grounds and I adore him or that. He didn't even charge me. And then he made a wine for me, the Blushing Nightingale. I love it! Silas is a gentleman and true night. He is so generous.

Relationship Note on Silas
Sir Silas Mercier is a member of the Iron Guard, officially under my command as a guard but I find it increasingly awkward to command him in anything since he's more than capable of planting me like a tree in the training grounds. Still, sparring with him has been and I'm still be most instructive. The more that I hone my skills against his the better I will be.
If you can get time in the ring with him, it is well worth it.

Relationship Note on Silas
A young knight of the Mercier family, he has an amazing level of skill for one of his age. Recently, he's been training me in how to better fight with a sword and his lessons have been invaluable in increasing my skill and technique. I have far to go, but Sir Silas' assistance has been very welcomed. I appreciate his methods of showing rather than telling. Lectures on swords? No thank you! I know that whenever House Grayson will need the might of its fighting men and women, Sir Silas will be there.

Relationship Note on Silas
Silas, another of what I feel is a nearly endless list of cousins, is probably one of the more interesting family members. I honestly could not think of a vocation any further from the norm of the Merciers than a knight, an Iron Guard no less.
Well, no one is perfect.
I have seen him spar only once, and I will admit he makes it all seem quite effortless, but no conclusion should be made on a single experiment. I look forward to seeing more of his martial skill. I do appreciate that he has been so welcoming as well as accommodating. He's even tolerant of Meandre when I am certain he is not comfortable about her-- but it is his own fault for leaving wood-pieces about the Manor, she will only think them a place to rest, and if they are in his room that is not her fault.

Sir Silas is an interesting sort of person. He was quick to meet and has done nothing but amuse me since. He is taking a commission for me and I could not be happier for it. A few commissions actually. I am happy to have met him in truth. I feel as if I do not have to mind my tongue and thoughts as I do with others.

Relationship Note on Silas
My beloved brother and pride of Mercier, the Iron Guard Silas Mercier. Only two years my junior he has proven time after time as the voice of our household by serving as a knight in the Iron Guard. To my observation, his time there has made him sharper, realistic, and a little impatient and paranoid. My arrival to the manor was of course a great ordeal by the staff. I can be pretty harsh to them. So they were quick to make sure everything was to my specification. I could tell that moving into the manor disrupted Silas' stay there but I was quick to disarm him with the mention of a home cooked meal and the conversation quickly took a lighter tone. A trick that always works with him. I'm glad to be back alongside Silas. His company makes me feel safe, safe enough to take the risk required to propel House Mercier towards success.

I remember him, in those days after what happened. We were both little, and he was always trying to find ways to make me smile without making me feel as if what happened was something to be dismissed. Silas has a sense of daring to him that reminds me that risks are worth taking. I hope he has occasion to rise. He deserves it.

Relationship Note on Silas
Sir Silas Mercier is a man who wears many hats. He is enlisted in the Iron Guard where he serves with distinction, he keeps a woodworking shop with very talented apprentices, and he has consistently performed his duties in such a way as to rival the trueborn and highborn that he must interact with on a frequent basis. For any man, this would be an impressive resume. For so young a man, one must marvel at the blessings the gods have bestowed upon him and wonder what the future holds. Grayson is fortunate to claim him as one of ours.

I have been impressed with many of Sir Silas's showings in martial events, by all appearances he is a knight well skilled in the sword, in the tilt and in the hunt. I have no doubt that he serves the Iron Guard with distinction and honor. What was more surprising to learn is what a talented carpenter the man is. He made me a very large table with a map of Arvum carved into the surface and it turned out even better than I hoped. I have even already been yelled at by the manor staff for using the good china as 'strategic markers' because it was so big that I didn't have enough tokens to place them everywhere that I needed. He is truly an impressive craftsman!

Sir Silas is so clever! He had the wonderful idea to have a card game at the tavern, and it was one he developed all himself! I'm still not quite sure I remember all the rules, but it was so much fun. He has been very polite and pleasant, and it's so good to have such company around. I only hope I can return his kindness.

I am sure there are a hundred good things which Silas does for the grand city of Arx, protecting it and doing the things he does with wood in that shop. But I think the thing he does the very best is ensuring that dead things are dead with intent and determined focus. Not enough people understand what an endearing and necessary quality this is. It speaks volumes about being able to finish a job and get it done thoroughly! Or at least, it ensures that the pulverized snake won't slither ever again, which is probably just as important if you were almost bit by it.

The man can build furniture. He also did a good job with putting together a game night at Traders Tavern. He was very useful during the hunt as well. As long as the man continues accumulating good marks, I'll continue to watch him. He seems like a useful fellow to to know among the Iron Guard.

Ironguard who put on the life changing card game at the trader's Tavern. If he ever comes to do mischief in the Lower boroughs, Hammar won't crush his skull, Hammar maybe break his leg instead.
