I do not know what I would do without Marian some days. She never ceases to amaze me; sometimes I think I've figured her out, only to be shown a different layer of her beautiful personality and left learning more and more of her. She is an amazing sister.

Met the Sword of Sanctum. Quite a nice woman, we talked about swords and past battles a bit, made recommendations for a place to shop as well. Anyone reading this, I really recommend you to shop at Hana's Storied Blade.

Trying to describe The Sword of Sanctum is like trying to find the the right words to describe the skies when it is about to storm. My sister-in-law Princess Marian is a force of nature, beautiful to behold but deadly if you get to close. Thankfully she is bonding well with my sister Alis, which I think is good for both of them. There are some that disapprove of a prodigal turned princess carrying Oathbinder, but I know the depths of her honor, and I have seen her fury. There is no one I trust more than to carry my brother Velen's former mantle and to honor his memory in doing so.

Relationship Note on Marian
She says she comes from the green marches where she caught herself a Valardin prince. The prince is gone now but she wields his sword for his house and seems to be fairly adept at it. I find myself wondering how wise it is for these houses to have their champions walk the streets unguarded with these priceless heirlooms at their hips, if anything were to happen it would probably become our job to deal with it.

I took an instant liking to Princess Marian Valardin. When it comes to women who fight there are those who just wish to be men, those who just want something that will impress a would be husband, and then there are those who are actually still feminine but fight because it is what they love to do. I see Princess Marian as the third kind, and feel she may be a kindred spirit in that way... Although her feminine side could use a little help.

My sister-in-law, and the Sword of House Valardin. She is brave and strong, a woman who was infinitely worthy of my brother's regard. I am both glad that she took Oathbreaker, and that she has come to Arx to be with us. There is much that I know she can teach me, and she is another fierce woman warrior.

When we first met, I could tell that the Sword of Sanctum saw little reason to think much of me. Now, normally, I couldn't care less what some other woman thought. But this was different. This was Marian Valardin. She's hardly much older than me, but in a way, it feels as if I grew up on tales of her. It may have taken knocking her around some on the sparring grounds, but I believe I've earned her respect. It was well worth it.

She was the most well-armed visitor to the Ambassadors Salon that day by a margin of at least two swords. Given what happened to her husband and his family, I cannot blame her.
I did warn Princess Marian that the most likely threat in the capital ignored armor and weapons alike. It feels very strange to tell someone that she ought to worry about poison. I believed this common knowledge. To her credit, she did not look at me afterwards as though I invented poison myself.
She does not seem a traditional Valardin, but we did not get into sharing the stories of our lives. I am not an expert on how members of the House conduct themselves, but she was not scandalized when- well, that is a matter for a Black Reflection, I think.

Relationship Note on Marian
Didn't talk to her long, but she made an impression. I've seen women warriors with skill since I came to Arx, but they always struck me as pretenders in a way. Untested. Marian, not so much. There's something hard about her, something tested and tempered. She's tasted the pain of battle, carries the scars. I can respect that, woman or not. And heh, she spent half her life murdering Valardin knights. What's not to admire about that?
