Relationship Note on Joscelin

I'm not about to go through your drawers to find your creams and your lotions, but I want you to know that I like your face best when you first wake up in the morning and you're all freckles and dark eyes and crazy curls.

And scowls.

But I like the scowls.

Relationship Note on Joscelin

Joscelin has been ill, so in between fussing at her to get back into bed and putting out several buckets through the house and her shop because I know she can't stay /in/ bed, I've been stepping in to assist with some Guild matters as well (mostly to keep her in bed, but really, she's very stubborn). I've often watched Josie work Guild matters from the sidelines, so it was interesting to walk a mile in her shoes, so to speak. There's been contracts written, loans given, merchant issues handled, and honestly?

Honestly, I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am with my wife and her abilities to juggle all of this on the regular.

The Guild really couldn't ask for a better Guildmistress. And I couldn't ask for a better wife.

Even though she really, really, REALLY needs to GET BACK TO BED!

Relationship Note on Joscelin

I received the goods I comissioned from Mistress Joscelin for the Gold Order. Her work is, as one almost expects these days, beyond compare. I am eternally grateful to you, Mistress Joscelin.

And you charge too little.

Relationship Note on Joscelin

I'm sure it's a shock to no one that fashion is not really my thing. Still, some impressive works on show during the Crafter's Gallery. House Steelhart is proud to support such an endeavor. Well done to Guildmistress Joscelin and all involved!

Relationship Note on Joscelin

The Guildmistress is extremely talented, though that is no secret.

I nearly salivated at some of the clothing and jewelry I saw today, it was all exquisite and she and everyone who worked to support the opening of the Crafter's Gallery ought be very proud.

Relationship Note on Joscelin

She doesn't give herself enough credit. Full of constant compliments and praise for others; I know that's what makes her the best Guildmaster that the Crafters could ask for, I just think she deserves some of that herself. After all, I wouldn't work my fingers to the bones for just anybody - she's my muse, and I'm not saying that JUST because she's my wife.

But this fashion show .. it's going to be epic. Because she inspires as much as she creates. And I know when it's all said and done, and the show's a giant success, she's gonna thank everybody under the sun except herself. I just hope she takes a second to thank herself, and marvel in her abilities to bring all these people together and create beautiful art.

And if she doesn't thank herself? Well. I'll be singing her praises, and I'm sure a lot of other people will, too.

By the by, it's a fantasy to have EIGHT children at once. Not six. Six isn't nearly enough!

Relationship Note on Joscelin

The Guildmistress spent a considerable amount of time and effort on the recent commission that I'd placed with her, on behalf of the House. Some months back I received a number of journals from Ostria. Older journals. If I'm to understand these people, the Hydra, then I must look first to their past. You can determine a lot about people from where they've been, where they're from, and their experiences. That delivery granted me those things, in my own hands, to review at my own leisure. One should always keep both eyes to the future. One should spare a portion of the mind for acknowledgement of the past. There are many, many valuable lessons to be found there.

I discovered an entry about an old tradition of the House; a bit of symbolism, if nothing else. A quiet means of displaying unification and acceptance. My wife and I felt it was a fantastic idea to renew that tradition. To pay some respect to the past, as we make the necessary plans to ensure a successful future.

That context exhaustively provided: when it came time to find someone to aid us in the renewal of that tradition? There were certainly many options, but I often turn my eyes to the forerunners in any particular field. Often I refer to these people as "the best". Thus I contacted the Guildmistress of the Crafter's Guild. Our rather sizable order was delivered promptly given the size and scope of the endeavor.

The finished product? Exceptional. Exquisite. Superlative. Remarkable. Marvelous. The reason that it has taken me such a great deal to write this journal and provide this publicly visible thanks to Guildmistress Joscelin Arterius? Is simple. It has been truly difficult to gather together the words necessary to fully capture the life-like nature of the scales, the durability that sits light as a feather on the neck and shoulders, or the obvious focus paid to the intense details that can practically make the knees weak with their beauty.

My satisfaction was so great that by nightfall of the very same day, I'd already presented Mistress Joscelin with another great challenge. Which she accepted to my great relief. Now with bated breath I await notification of her eventual completion, because on that day I know that I will bear witness to a beautiful piece of art that will be quite befitting to intended recipient.

Thank you for aiding House Mazetti in breathing new life into an old tradition. Thank you for not shying from a challenge and when presented with another after exceeding expectations on the first? Readily accepting without hesitation! You have our sincere thanks and appreciation.

It was so nice to see Mistress Joscelin smiling and so happy at her wedding I was glad that she loved the gift I made for her, and hope that she'll continue to be successful, and excited about these things. She has such a great personality and cheerfulness that's infectious.

You are correct - that is precisely how it works.

Prince Luca was fighting on the side of Lady Saoirse, whose claim was that he must have cheated to have won the popularity contest.

He won, therefore, he must have cheated.

It was, as I said, a very silly duel.

More important than beauty - though there was plenty of that today too - is that you looked happy. And so I wish you happiness, love, and long life with your beloved by your side. May every day continue to be better.

I should mention your days will get better with that delicious Deepwood cider I gifted you.

Congratulations!

It is almost time! I imagine my dearest cousin is in quite the flurry of excitement and, knowing her, meticulous organisation.

I hope she will enjoy the few verses I've strung together for her, as my gift. And no, these ones are not about potatoes.

Not to sound like a priss, but I have absolutely /nothing/ to wear. I wonder if Luca might lend me one of his shirts, if I promise not to spill rum on it..? Bah, any garments of his are likely soaked in rum down to the last thread, anyway.
