Shard is absolutely correct. You should be selecting your team based on the areas that you're traveling. I speak Northlands and Oathlands shav so while I'd be an excellent companion for visiting the Abandoned tribes in those locations, I wouldn't be able to communicate with those in other regions.

Asking if anyone has experience with the Abandoned is a little like asking if anyone has experience with humans. It's so damned broad it's practically meaningless. Every single Prodigal who joined the Compact above a certain age has meaningful experience with the Abandoned, but chances are high that experience won't necessarily apply to any Abandoned you'll encounter. That might be the only advice I can actually offer, in fact. Stop thinking of the Abandoned as a single people, find out which tribe, or tribes, you might come into contact with. Abandoned, as a word, only applies as a way to define them against the Compact, and that's the only way they use it. When they think of themselves, they think of their tribe.
The same goes for asking about a singular language. Abandoned peoples speak multiple different languages, depending on where they're from. Which one?

Truer words have never been written, and it matches a philosophy I embrace whole heartedly. Often I am asked for a story that is uplifting. That has love, or hope. And often, I see the look if uncertainty when such stories begin with moments of despair, or sadness. What use is hope if there is no despair? Can one have love without heartbreak? Without the duality, the happier of these emotions lose their meaning. It doesn't soften the pain, it doesn't make it easier. But such feelings should still be embraced and relished fully, so that the happier forms of them have that much more meaning. You? Have a free drink waiting for you at the Raconteur Brewery, whichever day you may want to come lay claim to it.

Of course passion can be terrifying, perhaps one of the most terrifying double-edged swords we know. Walk our city, you will see the passion for learning and creation on display. Watch our duels, you will see the passion of our champions for their craft, the passion of pricked emotions on display. It has created wonders in our world.

I've forgotten one of the most important matters of all regarding Champion Bliss Whisper. She has agreed to provide me with ample tutelage and practice in knocking the rust from both my sword and my footwork. It's been quite some time since my service in the ranks of Southport's martial affairs, so having such a renowned figure prepared to help bring me back to a certain level of preparedness? I am a most fortunate man who has been graced with an abundance of wonderful opportunities.

Relationship Note on Bliss
While one can hope to submit a journal extolling the many virtues of another it is with some measure of sadness that I know it simply will not be possible with Bliss, Champion and courtesan of the Whisper House, as the subject. Mere words are incapable of fully describing all that she is and all that she is capable. With ease I could attribute a few words to many other names and tell a great deal about them to a stranger. Bliss, unfortunately, has transcended that possibility. Exceptional grace is possessed in the same moment that she presents herself as perfectly casual, which seems to defy reality. She's capable of proving herself merciful in the same moment that she is deadly. There is much more that could be said of her, but none of it would truly encapsulate her.
It would be criminal to forget that she is also a recognized Champion. Someone that has exceptional skill as a duelist, both in her interactions with others and her bladework. Fully capable of disarming her opponent in a duel and in a conversation, she no doubt inspires envy in many that she encounters. I've encountered many a duelist in my years, with only one being on the level of Bliss. That competition is no longer valid, which leaves Bliss to be one of the finer duelists that I've come to know personally.
Despite all of that which I've had to write about her, I know that it still will not do her justice. The written word simply isn't capable of fully grasping all that she is. Perhaps another culture will have the words to properly provide testimony to this Whisper's excellence.
It is with great anticipation that I will watch her career rise closer and closer to her potential, which is vast. It will be euphoric.

Relationship Note on Bliss
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Bliss Whisper and the rest of the Whisper house for the invitation to a lovely evening. The food, music and company was sublime, and you have really outdone yourselves. It's such a joy to have her back in the city, I haven't seen her since I was a young girl back in Tor. It has been a joy to get to know her once more as a woman grown.
If there are more evenings like this, I sincerely hope to receive an invitation in the future, I would hate to miss it.

There are people who are as deep as rivers, where the calm surface hides torrents and currents strong enough to drown a man in the blink of an eye. There are people who are more like fires, burning brightly and frenetically, shedding light and heat in equal measure, drawing those around them close enough to burn. Some people are like the wind, unceasing, hard to catch, sometimes soft and sometimes chill against your skin.
But the Whisper Bliss is, I think, more like an avalanche waiting to happen. Even at rest, the potential hangs about her, making you catch your breath and hold it, lest you trigger the inevitable. And yet, in the deepest seat of your mind, you want to cast a rock at just the right place. Not out of hope of escaping what follows, but because the magnificent stampede is, quite simply, worth being buried alive.

Charming, graceful, agile, and a scrapper. Be still, my heart.
Her dance was the highlight of my Celebration of Arts, though more may remember her from Lady Calista Fidante's Tournament of Roses. Her performance in the melee was nothing short of impressive.
Don't keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. From her manner at the Tournament, I suspect she can be quite saucy. That she is quite proper otherwise shows respectable self-control.
If I did not have Lady Kima, I would certainly have her champion my honor sometime. I wonder if I can contrive an occasion for her to accompany me, perform for me, and fight for me all on the same day? It's exhausting to imagine. Is her endurance up to the task?

Champion Bliss Whisper may well be the first person I've met who actually understands the value of showmanship in a sword fight. When you duel in the tournament grounds before a crowd you are not fighting to win a battle, or to murder an enemy, you are fighting to win hearts and minds. She understands this, as I suppose something of an expert in winning hearts as a courtesan. I'm sure we're to get along famously, the fact that I can pay her to agree with me and do as I please will not doubt help also.

The Delightful Champion of the Whisper House, Bliss impressed me instantly, with her ability to adapt to changing situations during events. I find her absolutely delightful, and definitely intend to keep her close. We're of like minds, she and I, and I think we'll be famous friends and companions.

Champion Bliss Whisper, a woman met upon the dance floor at a moonlit social gathering hosted by the Great House of Velenosa. Yes, indeed, she was both a defender of honour and refined paragon of entertainment. Talen's interest in the woman was born that night, not least because of her every talent fell in line with the high standards found in the southern provinces of the Lyceum. It remained then that she would be a fine contact to approach should Talen ever have need of a quality individual to serve the purposes of the Grand Duchess and her family.
